Weiqing tomb is located in the northwest of Daochang village, Nanwei Town, Xingping City, Shaanxi Province, 1000 meters northeast of Maoling, and Huo Qubing tomb in the East. Historical evolution
In the fifth year of Yuanfeng (106 BC) of the Western Han Dynasty, Wei Qing died of illness. In order to commemorate his brilliant achievements in war, Emperor Wu of the Han dynasty built a tomb in the shape of Yinshan Mountain in the northeast of Maoling. His posthumous title is "lie",
It is taken from the meaning of "to make contributions by military force, to uphold virtue and respect industry, to be strong" in Shifa.
The seal of Weiqing tomb is a two-story platform covered with bucket shaped soil, which is the largest one among the important officials buried with Maoling. The bottom of the tomb is 113.5 meters long in the East, 90 meters long in the south, 72.6 meters long in the north, 107.2 meters long in the west, 25.5 meters high, 15 meters north-south and 6 meters East-West at the top, 25.5 meters high, covering an area of 8064.55 square meters and 94412 cubic meters in volume. The northwest corner is concave, while the southwest corner is protruding. It looks like a hill in the distance. The south slope is steep, the north slope is long and gentle, and there is a platform in the middle.
In front of the tomb is a tombstone inscribed by Bi Yuan, governor of Shaanxi Province during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty
Cultural relics
There is a stone tablet of Qing Dynasty in the mausoleum, with the inscription: "the tomb of Duke Wei of Han Dynasty." It was established by Bi Yuan, governor of Shaanxi Province during the reign of Qianlong.
Brief introduction to the owner of the tomb
Wei Qing? In 106 BC, Zhongqing was a famous general in the Western Han Dynasty. In the Han Dynasty, He Dong was born in Pingyang (now the southwest of Linfen, Shanxi Province). Her mother is the maid of Princess Pingyang's family in the mansion of marquis Pingyang, and she is called Wei Yi. Wei Qing spent his childhood under his mother's knee. Later, as he grew older, he was vigorous and courageous. One day, Wei Qing went to Ganquan palace with his family. He met a prisoner wearing a torture instrument. He was good at observing the prime minister. He saw Wei Qing and said, "you are a noble man, and you are a marquis." Wei Qing replied with a smile: "in the life of human slaves, it's enough to have no scolding. Can an be a marquis?"
Wei Qing was reasonable, diligent, appreciated by the princess, and was appointed as a knight. Later, because his sister Wei Zifu was selected as his wife, Wei Qing was promoted to Taizhong doctor.
In the sixth year of Yuanguang (129 BC), the Xiongnu in the North became more and more rampant. Emperor Wu ordered Wei Qing to be a general to attack the Xiongnu seven times. He repeatedly made war achievements. The age of Wei Qing's life was unknown, and he died of illness in the fifth year of Yuanfeng (106 BC).
