Gongbei Bridge
Gongbei bridge, commonly known as Wuyan bridge, is located in the north of Pinghu Lake in Huizhou, Guangdong Province. Zhiping Sanjian (1066) of Northern Song Dynasty was built when Chen Cheng, the supreme minister, built a dike to encircle the lake. It has a history of 900 years and has been maintained in all dynasties.
During the eastern expedition in 1925, the teachers and students of Huangpu Military Academy attacked the north gate of Huizhou through this bridge. At the end of the bridge, there is a memorial to the martyrs who died in the eastern expedition of Huangpu Military Academy. The bridge is made of brick and stone, 40 meters long, 8.4 meters wide and 8.7 meters high. It is the second famous six bridge in the history of West Lake. When the flowers bloom in spring and the lake water flows into the river, it is one of the famous sceneries on the lake. It is not only the bridge of Huizhou Millennium official road, but also the channel of West Lake flood discharge and East River.
Current situation of scenic spots: a few years ago, cars were not allowed to pass, but people could pass through. It still played the role of flood discharge and has been included in the six scenic spots of Beimen park.
