Hebei literature museum is the first provincial Literature Museum in China. It is a comprehensive museum with the functions of literature display, collection of writers' data, literature exchange, calligraphy and painting exhibition, etc. it is subordinate to Hebei writers' Association, and the main body is exhibition hall of Hebei literature history. The exhibition area is 1400 square meters. The first floor is the ancient hall, mobile exhibition hall and multi-function hall, and the second floor is the modern and contemporary hall.

An overview of Library History

In July 1997, the project was approved by the Hebei provincial Party committee and the Hebei Provincial People's government according to the implementation outline of the construction of socialist spiritual civilization in Hebei Province from 1996 to 2000. It was completed and opened in September 1999. Hebei literature museum is located in the middle section of Huaibei Road, Yuhua District, Shijiazhuang City, covering a total area of 19 mu. The whole building complex integrates Chinese classical gardens and European architectural art. The environment is elegant and the atmosphere is solemn. The name of the museum is inscribed by the famous calligrapher Huang Qi. The whole building is divided into the office area and the north and south parts of the exhibition hall, the main body of which is the exhibition hall of Hebei literature history. Since 2003, Hebei Literature Museum has collected materials and exhibits, updated the design, adjusted and expanded the existing display contents, completed the renovation and re opening in May 2004. Hebei Literature Museum has become one of the representative cultural landscapes in Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei Province, and also an important window for people from all walks of life at home and abroad to understand Yan Zhao culture.

The basic display of Hebei literature museum is Hebei literature history, with an area of 1400 square meters.

According to the overall architectural characteristics, experts reasonably divide the display space. The first floor is the ancient hall and mobile exhibition hall, and the second floor is the modern hall. The overall layout is balanced and full of changes. The simple outer frame and square of the exhibition wall show elegance in solemnity, and set off the exhibition boards. The bottom lining of the exhibition board adopts the form of thread bound ancient books and modern manuscript paper, and adopts artistic element symbols to strengthen the literariness, artistry and characteristics of the times of the exhibition. For example, brick portraits were used in the Han Dynasty, paintings in the Tang Dynasty, Riverside paintings at Qingming Festival in the Song Dynasty, and paintings in the Qing Dynasty in the Qing Dynasty. Photos, pictures, words, seals, sculptures and landscapes form an artistic and literary exhibition space, which strengthens the ornamental and display theme of the exhibition.

The ancient hall consists of six units: Pre Qin, Han, Wei, Jin, southern and Northern Dynasties, Sui, Tang, Five Dynasties, song, Liao, Jin, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. The modern hall consists of four units: the period of the May 4th New Culture Movement, the period of the left wing writers alliance, the period of the revolutionary literature and art movement in the liberated areas, and the new glory of revolutionary war literature. Each unit summarizes the literature creation of Hebei in this period and its position in the history of Chinese ancient and modern literature. The contents include the writers or literary phenomena of this period, including relevant pictures, works, historical materials and exhibits.

As a part of the splendid ancient culture of the Chinese nation, Hebei has outstanding writers such as Xunzi, Gaoshi, Guan Hanqing, Wang Shifu, Cao Xueqin, Ji Xiaolan, and literary traditions such as Han Yuefu, Jian'an literature, and Yuan zaju. In the history of modern literature, there are such revolutionary pioneers as Li Dazhao who have laid the ideological foundation for modern Chinese literature, and such outstanding poets as Feng Zhi who have the courage to explore. During the war of resistance against Japan and the war of liberation, the army and people in the liberated areas of Hebei integrated the fighting life of blood and fire into literature and art. A large number of outstanding writers such as Zhang Hanhui, Tian Tian, Guo Xiaochuan, Sun Li, Liang Bin, Guan Hua, Xu Guangyao, and excellent works such as "the sun shines on the Sanggan River" and "biography of heroes of new children" emerged. For a while, from Taihang mountain area to the coast of Bohai Sea, The hair cone is used as a gun, the plain paper as a drum, the poem mountain and the drama sea, which are called prosperous. The exhibition of the history of Hebei literature collected a large number of valuable photos, manuscripts, manuscripts, first editions and cultural relics of famous writers, all of which are of high cultural and artistic value, making the exhibition reach a higher level, vividly and accurately representing the historical glory of the revolutionary literature and art in Shanxi, Chahar and Hebei.

The exhibition of Hebei literature history fully displays the profound foundation of Yan Zhao Culture with the brilliant achievements of Hebei literature in past dynasties, carries forward the glorious tradition of revolutionary literature and art in the liberated areas, shows the correct direction of socialist literature, and plays a role in carrying out patriotism and excellent cultural tradition education for young people, recalling the past, enlightening the future, serving the society, and inheriting civilization.

Featured exhibits

There are seven half length bronze sculptures, including Xunzi, Gao Shi, Guan Hanqing, Feng Zhi, Tian Tian, Sun Li and Liang Bin.

There are more than 50 thread bound rare books and more than 130 volumes in the ancient hall, including 20 Qing Dynasty edition. There are 12 works of oil painting, traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy. More than 20 manuscripts and letters of contemporary writers, more than 100 works of precious editions, and dozens of writers' writing and daily necessities appeared in the exhibition. Among them, the collection of literature materials in Jin Cha Ji period, represented by poetry flyers, is particularly rich and precious. In addition, more than 50 pieces of works, manuscripts, photos, objects and other cultural relics are collected in the museum.

The significance of Academic Libraries

Since the exhibition of Hebei literature history was launched in 1999, it has been reported by Hebei TV station, Hebei Daily, Yanzhao Metropolis Daily, Shijiazhuang TV station, Yanzhao evening news and other media. In 2006, it won the first "Hebei Museum exhibition quality award" issued by Hebei Provincial Bureau of cultural relics.

Since its opening in June 2004, Hebei literature history exhibition has received nearly 200000 visitors. In addition to the exhibition of Hebei literature history as the basic exhibition, Hebei Literature Museum, with a mobile exhibition hall of 300 square meters, has hosted many special exhibitions in a few years: Jia Pingwa's calligraphy and painting exhibition, Feng Jicai's Shimen painting exhibition, Xuyu's calligraphy exhibition, Xiong Jiquan's calligraphy exhibition, the first seal cutting art exhibition of Hebei Province, Hebei famous poets' manuscripts and letters exhibition, Wang Guozhen's calligraphy and painting exhibition, and Luo Fu's poetry and calligraphy exhibition There are more than 30 special exhibitions, such as double art exhibition, Hebei famous writers' calligraphy and painting works invitation exhibition. These exhibitions have achieved good results and enhanced the popularity of Hebei literature museum.

Since July 2005, with the theme of visiting the exhibition of Hebei literature history, Hebei Literature Museum has held three times of Hebei Literature Museum cup essay competition for primary and secondary school students, which has played a positive role in publicizing Hebei Literature Museum, improving the literature accomplishment of primary and secondary school students in the provincial capital, and enriching students' extracurricular life.

Hebei Literature Museum has a Hebei writers Information Center, which is responsible for collecting and displaying the necessary exhibits and materials, and persistently collecting Hebei writers' works and relevant materials. So far, it has set up creation archives for nearly 500 modern and contemporary writers, and the data collection has begun to take shape. The data center has moisture-proof equipment and fire-proof equipment to ensure the long-term safe storage of data.

Hebei Literature Museum published the history of Hebei literature and painting in September 2001 by Hebei University Press. The history of Yanzhao literature and art (literature volume) was published by Huashan literature and Art Publishing House in 2006. The commentary of Hebei literature history exhibition was printed and distributed free of charge. A large-scale reference book, Hebei Provincial Records of literature, will be published soon.

Based on the exhibition of Hebei literature history, Hebei Literature Museum has carried out a variety of literature exchange activities with local colleges and universities, organized visits and lectures, expanded the influence of Hebei literature, and promoted the patriotic education of young students. Hebei writers Information Center provides information services for many writers, literary experts and university teachers, and has gained a good reputation.

On January 18, 2016, after more than a year of collection, collation, reconstruction and expansion, the new Hebei Literature Museum ushered in the opening day. The museum was equipped with more perfect and thoughtful service facilities, and a new public reading room was added, providing the public with a free reading place for classic literary works at home and abroad, especially Hebei writers' works. In the exhibition design, opera, sand painting and film were used And so on. For example, the painted clay figurines are used to show the scenes of Baodai's first meeting and Daiyu's flower burial in Cao Xueqin's masterpiece a dream of Red Mansions, the sand paintings are used to show Ding Ling's work the sun shines on the Sanggan River, and the old films such as Xiaobing zhangga, the wild fire fighting against the ancient city, the armed forces behind the enemy and the red flag spectrum are used to show the style of "Red Classics".
