Located at the foot of Baihu mountain in the west of Yichuan County, Chengyuan is the cemetery of Chenghao, Chengyi brothers and their father, the founders of Neo Confucianism in the Northern Song Dynasty. The gate of Chengyuan mountain was built in 1106, the fifth year of Chongning of song Weizong. Today's cunshanmen was rebuilt in 1813. In 1987, the people's Government of Yichuan County rebuilt the Mountain Gate on the east side of the Mountain Gate in the Qing Dynasty.
position
Chengyuan is located at the foot of Jingshan National Forest Park on the west side of Yichuan County. Founded in 1108, it is the tomb of Cheng Hao, Cheng Yi and his father, the famous founders of Neo Confucianism in the Northern Song Dynasty. It covers a total area of 3.4 hectares. In 1963, the people's Government of Henan Province announced it as a key cultural relics protection unit at the provincial level. The influence of Cheng's Neo Confucianism went through yuan, Ming, Qing and Republic of China. Its value surpasses the Confucian classics of the Han Dynasty, metaphysics of the Wei and Jin Dynasties, Buddhism of the Sui and Tang Dynasties. From a dialectical point of view, it has both a negative side and an integral part of the cultural heritage, which is worthy of our study

Profile
Cheng Hao (1032)_ 1085), the word Bochun, posterity honorific Mr. Mingdao. Cheng Yi (1033)_ He was a philosopher, educator and scholar in the Northern Song Dynasty. He inherited Zhou Dunyi's philosophy, Confucius and Mencius, and passed on to Zhu Xi. He taught people loyalty, filial piety, fraternity and faithfulness through self-cultivation. From the Southern Song Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty, Cheng Zhu Neo Confucianism occupied a dominant position in Chinese ideological circles for nearly a thousand years. Because Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi were compatriots, they also shared repair studies, so they were called "Er Cheng" in later generations.
build
The former residence of Er Cheng was first built in 1103 A.D. in the second year of Chongning of Huizong of Song Dynasty. Cheng Yi died in 1107 A.D. in the first year of Daguan. Later generations built ancestral temples here. In 1455 A.D., the emperor ordered Cheng village to be named "hometown of two Cheng", and built a stone archway in the east of Cheng village, which was written "imperial edict" and "hometown of two Cheng". 60 houses will be expanded. Later, it was destroyed by the war, and several of them were destroyed and repaired. During the reign of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty, the total area of the temple was 4392 square meters, and the layout was three entrance courtyard. The whole building is tall and grand. There are many stone steles and towering cypresses in the temple, which has always been regarded as a famous area of Neo Confucianism. In March of the 26th year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1687 AD), the plaque of "Xue Da Xing Tian" written by the emperor hung at the gate of Cheng's ancestral hall. In September 1901, when Empress Dowager Cixi and Emperor Guangxu passed by Luoyang, Empress Dowager Cixi wrote "xizhuyanmeng" and Emperor Guangxu wrote "yiluoyuanyuan" plaque, which was sent to Cheng temple and still exists today. There is a huge tablet in the courtyard, about six or seven meters high, which is the best calligraphy. It is said that it was written by Zhao Mengfu of the Yuan Dynasty.
Cultural relics protection
Chengyuan was announced as a key cultural relics protection unit in Henan Province in 1963. Since 1986, Yichuan County Government has decided to strengthen the protection. In 1987, Yichuan County Chengyuan management office was set up to build a new mountain gate and a new wall. It is specialized in the protection and management of Chengyuan's cultural relics. In addition to the tombs of Er Cheng and his father, there are also tombs of his children and uncle Er Cheng. The garden covers an area of more than 100 mu, with about 500 ancient cypresses planted inside, with the original gate, gate and gate Second gate, tomb temple, mountain courtyard and ancestral hall, Ming shed, wing room and other buildings, as well as some stone tablets and stone carvings. In June 2003, Yichuan County government invested 1 million yuan to implement the Chengyuan square project, built antique archways, flower Gallery pavilions, paved the ground with bluestones, planted flowers and trees, which not only further protected Chengyuan, but also provided a place for leisure and entertainment for Yichuan urban residents

statue
In the ancestral hall of Cheng Yuan, I saw two statues of Cheng. The elder brother Cheng Hao had black hair and black beard, and the younger brother Cheng Yi had white hair and white beard. It is said that Cheng Hao "was born to know it", and he was full of knowledge without any effort. However, Cheng Yi "learned to know it" and studied hard, so he had profound knowledge. In fact, although Cheng Hao was his elder brother, he died at the age of 54, so he had black hair and black beard; his younger brother Cheng Yi died at the age of 75, of course, with white hair and white beard. Such a legend is nothing more than telling future generations that no matter what kind of talent they have, as long as they work hard, they will eventually achieve great success in University
