In 1936, monk Pujing of Nanxiang traveled here. He heard the scriptures from the pagoda and passed on the lantern to explain the teachings, which made Jinshan Temple come back to life. During the Anti Japanese War, master yinkong began to take charge of Shanmen. The temple was restored the following year and was completed in 1947. At the same time, with the support and help of squire GUI Rudan, we welcome the living Buddha of Gongga in Xikang to pass on the Dharma in the temple, which is called "Zhonghua Gongga Temple".
Rebuilding the temple

Jinshan Temple founded a traditional Chinese medicine training center, which trained a group of talents with both morality and technology, and several people participated in the rescue of the wounded. After that, he founded nizhong weaving factory and practiced self-supporting production, which became a typical example of the whole province. In the cultural revolution, the temple was razed to the ground again, and many monks were forced to return to the secular life.
In the mid-1980s, the octogenarian master Yin Kong returned to the abbot Shanmen of Jinshan Temple from Guangzhou and resolutely took on the task of restoring the Jinshan Temple and reviving the Zen style. This move was strongly supported by the local people and the government. After more than ten years of hard work, Jinshan Temple now has a new look in front of the world.
Layout structure
Three miles long winding mountain road, cars circling, visitors climb up. In the temple, more than ten grand buildings, including Tianwang hall, Daxiong hall, Jialan hall, jade Buddha Hall, thousand Buddha tower, sutra Pavilion, bell and Drum Tower, guest hall, Zhaitang, Liaofang, teaching building and library, have been completed one after another, with a maximum of six floors. The hall is compact in layout, well arranged and majestic. There are countless vivid Buddha statues in the temple. It has a collection of more than 200000 classics, including two rare treasures, Dazangjing. In the 1990s, high-voltage electricity, tap water, program-controlled telephone and fax machine have been installed in the temple. Equipped with a complete set of broadcasting equipment, audio-visual teaching equipment, color TV, tape recorder, computer, copier, etc., modern office facilities are available.
In 1993, the Buddha statue was opened in unprecedented splendor. More than 20000 followers from all over the world and Chinese disciples from Hong Kong, Macao and Southeast Asia flocked to it. It was magnificent and was known as the "Buddhist city" in Eastern Jiangxi.
Inheritance of Buddhism
In order to solve the problem of the low quality of the Buddhist team and the shortage of dragons and elephants, in 1994, Jinshan Temple raised funds by itself and overcame many difficulties. It established Jiangxi Buddhist Institute (only two in China). The Institute has three classes: junior, middle and senior, which are open to students from all over the country.
The students invited Zhushan Dade and some experts from the ancient temples of all places in China to teach, supplemented by the master of knowledge and Cultivation in the temple, and taught according to the people, which provided a batch of qualified talents for temples all over the country. So far, more than 130 students of the college have become pillars of the temples. As a result, Jinshan Temple became famous and became a place where many monks and nuns were fascinated.
Scenic spots
Today's Jinshan Temple is not only known as "the Buddhist city of Eastern Jiangxi", but also a Buddhist holy land worshipped by many faithful men and women. Moreover, it has been set up as a key tourism development zone by Fuzhou prefectural Party committee and administrative office, and has become a scenic spot for tourists. All day long, there is an endless stream of pilgrims to the mountains, and monks from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia often come to set up Buddhas for meditation.
