Feiquan Temple
Feiquan temple is located in nanjizhuang (formerly named yaojiahe) of Leiya Town, 26 kilometers northeast of Baishui County, Shaanxi Province. It was built in the Ming Dynasty. The temple was built according to the mountains. There was a statue of Guanyin in the temple, commonly known as Guanyin temple. In the 18th year of Qianlong reign of Qing Dynasty (1753 A.D.), Jirui, a monk, extended his cultivation. The stone steps in front of the temple. There is a small stone pool under it to divert water and inject water. On the left, there are several waterfalls, hanging high on the hillside and sprinkling trees, which are like frost at four seasons. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong, Liang Shan, the county magistrate, was named Feiquan temple. The spring water is clear and sweet, and the tea is delicious, which is often chanted by poets in Ming and Qing Dynasties. Deng Jue, the magistrate of the Qing Dynasty, has a sentence in nanjizhuang Feiquan: "but he likes to be in the mountain. If this is the case, the underground cave will be rid of dregs. He calls monks to draw water to make camellia, and its taste is sweeter than that of the north water of the city.". During the reign of Emperor Qianlong, the cliff of Zhizai had collapsed, and the flow of the spring was weakened when it was encountered. There was no waterfall. But surrounded by mountains, clear Luochuan and bright Feiquan, it is also a place of beautiful scenery. It is recorded in the Chinese tourism dictionary and Cihai. The temple was founded in the Ming Dynasty, the specific age is unknown, the temple for the original statue of Guanyin, known as Guanyin temple. In the 18th year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty, Liang Shanchang, the magistrate of Baishui County, observed that there were more than ten mountain springs flying down the cliff beside the temple, sprinkling trees at the foot of the mountain. It was like snow in four seasons and was renamed "Feiquan Temple". He also asked Ji Rui, a monk in the temple, to take charge of the maintenance. Construction began on the seventh day of July in the eighteenth year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong. The new statue of Guanyin was built and the monk's house was repaired. It was completed on the sixth day of March in the nineteenth year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong. Thus, the temple became a good place for Mohist dignitaries to visit.
Temple geography
Feiquan temple in Baishui County is hidden in the north of nanjizhuang village on the right bank of Leiya section of Baishui in Luohe Grand Canyon. It was first built in the Ming Dynasty. There was a statue of Guanyin in the temple, commonly known as Guanyin temple. The local people also call it Niangniang Temple. The temple is built according to the mountain situation and is located in a mountain depression facing Southeast and facing Luohe River. Beautiful scenery of mountains and rivers
Feiquan temple is located in the north of the mountain and the cliff is cencencen; there are several waterfalls on the left East Mountain of the temple, which are hung on the cliff and sprayed on the trees. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong, the magistrate Liang Shanchang named it "Feiquan", and the name of the temple was changed to "Feiquan Temple". According to county records, during the reign of Emperor Qianlong, the cliff collapsed, the spring water was blocked and the flow weakened, and the water outlet fell to the hillside under the cliff, losing the momentum of the waterfall hanging high. Although Feiquan is no longer there, it's also a place of leisure and scenery with mountains and clear Luoshui river.
Looking from Luohe River, the mountain peak in the east of Feiquan Temple appears on both sides of the main road, just like a rooster spreading its wings to fly. Therefore, local people have a legend that there was a divine rooster on the mountain. Every morning, the roosters around it also chirp, arousing the sleeping people to work early in the field. Later, a Lama came here to steal the chicken, so he could no longer hear the sound of the chicken crowing, leaving only the incarnation of the stone mountain, which looks like a rooster.
Ancient temple ruins
Today, although the temple has been destroyed, the mountain gate and several caves are still there; although the waterfall is no longer high, a clear spring still floats down from the mountainside; although there is no grand occasion of Buddhism in that year, the local folk hold a temple fair on March 11 of the lunar calendar every year. At that time, successive pilgrims and tourists come here with a pious and mournful mood. They light a pillar of incense and make a wish - either to ask the mother to give them their children or to pray for peace and auspiciousness.
In nanjizhuang village in front of the temple, a house is built on the mountain, and the stream is near the door. A stream of spring water flows from the mountain. The village is natural and simple, and the scenery around is pleasant. Unexpectedly, in this humble village, there is a "luxury house", which is called "San duo Ju". Its exquisite brick walls and brick carvings still stand aloof, although It is not as good as Shanxi Merchants' compound, but it also shows the glory and dignity of that year. According to their descendants, their ancestors were born in business. Later, they were killed by others for seeking wealth, and their family declined.
Nanjizhuang village and Feiquan Temple share a mountain and become one. In the village, there are mountains, trees, rivers, streams, and the elegance of "water passing the pavilion"; in the south of the village, there is the Guansai site of the Qin State in the spring and Autumn period and Warring States period; in the north of the village, there are stone gongs and drums with eight views of Baishui; in the East, there are fankuai mountain and fankuai tomb across the river; there are rich natural and cultural resources. Poetry chanting
