China Water Conservancy Museum is a national industry Museum directly under the Ministry of water resources. In order to publicize the people's historical achievements and great achievements in water conservancy, carry forward the spirit of water conservancy, inherit water conservancy culture, popularize water conservancy knowledge, and promote the sustainable development of water conservancy, in July 2004, with the approval of the State Council and the approval of the central office, China Water Conservancy Museum was established in Xiaoshan, Zhejiang Province, under the joint management of the Ministry of water resources and the people's Government of Zhejiang Province. The museum is located on the South Bank of Qiantang River in Hangzhou, with a construction area of 36500 square meters and a height of 128.9 meters. It adopts the design of integrating tower and Museum, realizing the perfect combination of classical style, modern materials and advanced technology, and becoming a crystal pagoda "floating on the water".

In order to publicize the people's historical achievements and great achievements in water conservancy, carry forward the spirit of water conservancy, inherit water conservancy culture, popularize water conservancy knowledge, and promote the sustainable development of water conservancy, in July 2004, with the approval of the State Council and the approval of the central office, the China Water Conservancy Museum was established in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, jointly managed by the Ministry of water resources and the people's Government of Zhejiang Province.
Since the construction started in March 2005, after five years of hard work, the China Water Conservancy Museum has been successfully completed and opened on World Water Day on March 22, 2010. The museum is located on the South Bank of Qiantang River in Hangzhou, with a construction area of 36500 square meters and a height of 128.9 meters. It adopts the design of integrating tower and Museum, realizing the perfect combination of classical style, modern materials and advanced technology, and becoming a crystal pagoda "floating on the water".
The water museum was started in March 2005 and put into trial operation on World Water Day on March 22, 2010.
Go straight to Xiaoshan along the second Qianjiang bridge. After getting off the exit, walk about 50 meters and turn left to see the water museum. The museum adopts the architectural idea of "integration of tower and Museum" and is built in the reclamation area of Qiantang River. From a distance, it looks like a crystal pagoda floating on the Qiantang River.

Function value
The main responsibilities of China Water Conservancy Museum are as follows
:
(1) To implement the national guidelines, policies and regulations for water conservancy, cultural relics and museums, and formulate and implement the management system and methods for China Water Conservancy Museum.
(2) Responsible for collection and restoration of cultural relics, protection and management of various collections, exhibition planning, design, exhibition arrangement and daily management.
(3) To be responsible for the organization and reception of the audience, to carry out science popularization and education, foreign exchanges and cooperation, and to do a good job in the information construction of the museum.
(4) To undertake the specific work related to the general survey of water cultural heritage, carry out the excavation, research, identification and protection of water cultural heritage, and establish a directory system and database. To undertake the specific work related to the formulation and grading evaluation of water cultural heritage standards.
(5) To carry out consulting services on water conservancy cultural relics, water cultural heritage and water conservancy literature, undertake relevant scientific research projects, and carry out academic activities at home and abroad.
(6) Organize and implement the construction of China Water Conservancy Museum project and supporting facilities.
(7) To undertake other tasks assigned by the Ministry of water resources, Zhejiang Provincial People's government and Zhejiang Provincial Department of water resources.
Venue features
China Water Conservancy Museum integrates the functions of collection, exhibition, science popularization, publicity, education, research, communication and leisure. The core exhibition area is divided into three parts: water conservancy Qianqiu, water Vientiane and Longshi Yupei. The water conservancy Millennium exhibition area adopts the five in one mode of scene restoration, cultural relic display, graphic display, video interpretation and multimedia special effects application to vividly show the water conservancy history and culture of the Chinese nation for more than 5000 years; the water Vientiane exhibition area adopts the way of participation and interaction to let the audience enjoy the knowledge ocean of water technology and water resources; the Longshi Yupei exhibition area adopts the traditional dragon button seal sculpture Engraved with an inscription, it interprets the origin and cultural connotation of China's water conservancy, and expresses the beautiful vision of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
Important events
On August 23, 2002, Zhejiang Provincial Department of water resources requested the Ministry of water resources to prepare for the construction of China Water Conservancy Museum; on February 26, 2002, the Ministry of Water Resources approved the preparation.
On October 20, 2003, the first pipe pile was driven for the building of China Water Conservancy Museum.
On October 21, 2003, the planning and design scheme of China Water Expo Park and China Water Conservancy Museum designed by Tianjin University passed the evaluation.
On December 29, 2003, the project of China Water Conservancy Museum passed the environmental impact assessment.
On April 15, 2004, Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission approved the preliminary design of China Water Conservancy Museum.
On July 21, 2004, with the approval of the State Council and the approval of the central editorial office, China Water Conservancy Museum was established.
On August 5, 2004, the building of China Water Conservancy Museum was completed and accepted.
On November 18, 2004, Wang Shucheng, Minister of water resources, inspected the preparatory work for the construction of China Water Conservancy Museum.
On March 15, 2005, Hui Liangyu, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice premier of the State Council, made important instructions on preparing to build the China Water Conservancy Museum.
On March 21, 2005, the opening ceremony of China Water Conservancy Museum was held, attended by relevant leaders from the Ministry of water resources, the State Administration of cultural relics, Zhejiang provincial government, the provincial people's Political Consultative Conference, the Provincial Department of water resources, Hangzhou city and Xiaoshan District.
On April 8, 2005, Xi Jinping, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice chairman of the CPC Central Committee and then Secretary of the Zhejiang provincial Party committee, visited the construction of China Water Conservancy Museum.
On April 15, 2005, the first pile was laid at the construction site of China Water Conservancy Museum.
On May 6, 2005, the Preparatory Office of China Water Conservancy Museum moved to No.1 Shuibo Avenue.
On June 30, 2005, China Water Conservancy Museum was officially registered by the state registration bureau.
On October 19, 2005, the first floor of China Water Conservancy Museum began pouring.
On April 27, 2006, the exhibition scheme report meeting of China Water Conservancy Museum was held in Hangzhou.
On January 24, 2007, Wu Guohua, deputy director of the Standing Committee of Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress and then vice chairman of Zhejiang Provincial People's Political Consultative Conference, inspected the construction of China Water Conservancy Museum.
