Military reclamation Museum
The military reclamation Museum of XPCC opened on October 10, 2004. The site of the museum is opposite to the Recreation Square in the center of Beisan Road, Shihezi City, Xinjiang, with a total construction area of 9703 square meters. At present, there are more than 5000 items on display, of which 29 are national first-class revolutionary cultural relics.
The Shihezi City Party committee office building of the Eighth Agricultural Division, known as "the first building of military reclamation", has become the only museum with the theme of military reclamation in China after maintaining its original appearance. The sound, light and electricity effects are used to reproduce the large-scale semi landscape painting of the people's Liberation Army's war on the wasteland, which has left a deep impression on people. It is an important base to show the history of military reclamation and carry out patriotism and revolutionary tradition education. In 2005, it was rated as one of the 100 red tourist attractions in China.
The predecessor of XPCC military reclamation museum is Shihezi military reclamation Museum, which was built in 1988. Since its opening in 1995, it has received more than 300000 Chinese and foreign tourists.
