Heilongjiang Provincial Geological Museum is located at 263 Hongqi Street, Harbin city. It opened on May 18, 2007. It is the first provincial geological museum in Heilongjiang Province and even in Northeast China, filling the gap in the construction history of Heilongjiang provincial professional museum.
Heilongjiang Provincial Geological Museum is a collection and Exhibition Center of geological and mineral specimens in Heilongjiang Province, which integrates scientific research and popular science. There are seven exhibition halls, including Jinxiu Longjiang hall, geological and mineral hall, rock and mineral hall, geological environment hall, stratigraphic paleontology hall, dinosaur fauna hall, mammoth rhinoceros fauna hall, with an exhibition area of 2211 square meters. The exhibition hall adopts modern technologies such as sound, light, electricity, multimedia and illusory image, and focuses on the geological development and scientific research achievements of Heilongjiang Province.

Splendid Longjiang Hall
Jinxiu Longjiang hall comprehensively introduces the general situation of Heilongjiang Province, and shows the beautiful scenery and rich natural resources of Heilongjiang Province through the live model of big wetland, prairie, forest and cultivated land. The display style of circular arch forms an open and far-reaching visual effect. The large-scale electric sand table of land and resources of Heilongjiang Province with horizontal scale of 1 / 200000 and vertical scale of 1 / 8000 and the circular projection screen in front of the sand table are used to display the transportation, administrative divisions and various natural resources of Heilongjiang Province in the form of synchronous playing video and explanation. The self controlled uplift and dislocation show the famous Manzhouli Suifenhe geoscience section. This kind of display means of cutting section is novel and unique, and is the first in China.
Most of the basic geological and fossil collections of Heilongjiang Provincial Geological Museum come from Heilongjiang Province. Some sections of the excavation site of dinosaur fossils in Wulaga, Jiayin, Heilongjiang Province have also been "moved" into the museum, and a glass platform has been built on the section, on which visitors can walk as if they were at the excavation site.
Department of Geology and mineral resources
The Department of Geology and mineral resources starts from geological work, metal mineral resources, energy mineral resources, non-metal mineral resources, geothermal and groundwater resources. The crustal evolution and the formation of important mineral resources in Heilongjiang Province in the past 2.5 billion years are demonstrated by the electronic display model.
Here you can also watch the model of the oil exploration and production platform of Daqing Oilfield, the largest continental oilfield in the world, produced by sound, light and electricity technology, and the illusory image of underground automatic coal mining.
The gas coal samples collected from Shuangyashan, Heilongjiang Province in the exhibition hall are 1.8 meters long, 1.3 meters wide and about 4.5 tons in weight. It is one of the most famous coal mine stone specimens on display in domestic museums.
Rock and mineral Hall
The rock and mineral hall, with transparent glass structure and crystal holes inlaid on the wall, shows visitors the colorful rocks and minerals inside and outside Heilongjiang Province, as well as the four famous ornamental stones and inkstones that inherit ancient civilization. Visitors can observe the minerals and their inclusions, cracks and other phenomena through four stereoscopic mirrors, so that they can contact with the simple and elegant gem minerals at the nearest distance; they can also touch the gem and jade by using two groups of illusory images, which will make these priceless treasures more mysterious.
Department of geological environment
The Department of geological environment, using the technique of small space and large landscape, shows the beautiful scenery of the Geopark through the miniature landscapes of Wudalianchi volcano, Xiaoxing'anling granite forest in Yichun and Maolan Valley in Jiayin. The scene of volcanic eruption is demonstrated by means of sound, light and electricity, which gives people the feeling of being on the scene.
Department of stratigraphy and Paleontology
The hall of stratigraphy and paleontology introduces to the audience the great changes and knowledge of stratigraphy and Paleontology in Heilongjiang Province in the past 500 million years with virtual images, rotating booths, electric spiral models, light box display boards and a large number of fossil specimens.
Dinosaur fauna Hall
The dinosaur fauna hall comprehensively and systematically introduces the rise and fall of dinosaurs in the geological history period to visitors by combining ancient ecological murals, landscapes, models, virtual images, platforms, dinosaur fossil skeletons and physical specimens.
The 11.75-meter-long and 4.0-meter-high Manchurian skeleton on display is the largest of the duck billed dinosaur skeletons unearthed in Jiayin County, Heilongjiang Province.
Mammoth - rhinoceros Hall
Mammoth and rhinoceros hall, with large murals combined with skeleton and real scene, shows the ancient ecological environment of this period, especially in the Quaternary Songnen Plain. This grassland, which was surrounded by dense forest at that time, was once the world of mammoth and rhinoceros.
