Treasure Island Park

The park is built around the lake, with beautiful scenery and lots of residential areas around it. It is a good place for citizens to relax and exercise, and a quiet place in the downtown. The water in the park is clear and there are many kinds of aquatic plants. There is a dragon and tiger Pagoda in the park, which is built in imitation of the dragon and tiger Pagoda in Taiwan. Now you can taste wine and make tea in the pagoda, and experience the slow life of the city. In 2007, in accordance with the spirit of the special meeting of the district government on the renovation of Baodao Park, the Bureau of water affairs, with the strong support and cooperation of the Bureau of landscape architecture and the Bureau of real estate, carried out the four modernizations (greening, hardening, lighting and facade beautification) of Baodao park. More than 1300 trees and 2000 landscape bamboos were newly planted, and 8 greening highlights were formed. The asphalt overlay of Huandao Road is more than 5000 square meters, and the leisure square of Huzhong island is 1200 square meters. There are 200 street lamps and 30 floor lamps, and the lighting appliances of dragon and tiger tower are installed. The total investment is about 4 million yuan. The project was completed by the end of 2007, making Baodao park more beautiful and clean, and reaching a new height of environmental construction.

geographical environment

Baodao Park, formerly known as Caozi lake, is located in the center of Hankou City, Wuhan City, adjacent to Taibei Road, Taibei Second Road and Kaohsiung Road, covering an area of 160000 square meters

Among them: 100000 square meters of water surface, 10000 square meters of Lake Island and 50000 square meters of shoreline land.

The annual water level is 18.2m and the water depth is 1.2m-1.6m.

Reconstruction project

In 2004, the water bureau carried out point pollution control on the water body of the park, effectively cut off the sewage pipe network, but the pollution inside the park is still serious, resulting in the water body of the park has not been effectively improved. In 2008, according to the work requirements of municipal and district governments, the water purification project of Caozi lake was included in the lake treatment plan of Wuhan Central City. The overall plan of this work has been completed, and the construction is planned to start in early August, including dredging, ecological revetment, planting aquatic plants and micro electrolysis water circulation system. After the completion of the project, the water quality will be classified into five categories Up to four categories, Treasure Island Park is becoming more and more perfect.

Wuhan Evening News reported the noise nuisance phenomenon of Jiefang park for three consecutive days, and published the ranking of Wuhan Civilization Park in June 2010. Baodao Park ranked last among 30 parks. Mr. Liu Zhixiu took the newspaper report to the park office, and took advantage of this trend to discuss with the park office to thoroughly control the sound noise problem. According to the "Regulations on the administration of urban parks in Wuhan City" and its own situation, the park office has initially formulated the "Regulations on the administration of noise in Baodao Park", which has made some specifications for noise nuisance. After careful preparation, the park office held a forum on noise management on November 4, which was also attended by representatives of surrounding residents. After more than four hours of heated debate, most people realized that noise is a public hazard. The park office limited the time and place of morning exercise and the regulations that must be observed in the activities in the park.

On the morning of the second day of the meeting, most of the six teams singing and dancing in the lake island of the park complied with the regulations, but one team still turned on the stereo to sing in the corner of the park. The staff immediately rushed to dissuade and patiently said, "you can rest and keep fit here, but the sound should be put at the gate of the park for the time being, so as not to disturb others and take it when you leave."

In the case of ineffective persuasion, the staff tried to force the stereo to the entrance of the park according to the previous regulations, but in the process, the staff was pushed and scratched on the back of their hands, which was also unsuccessful. Seeing this, Granny Liu called out to her parents, "your stereo is too loud. We are too old to stand it. Can we not sing here?" "there are many old people and children here. The stereo is too loud." Politely but persistently ask the last team out of the park. As they came in, the other teams asked them, "may I come in? Is that ok? " So when they go out, they also bring the phenomenon of high pitched sound out of the park completely.

In this successful activity, Mr. Liu Zhixiu saw the important role of the ordinary people in the management of the park. On March 22, 2011, the volunteer team for protecting the lake was officially established

On the day of World Water Day, the volunteer team of Baodao Park was officially established and was awarded the flag by Wuhan Water Bureau.

Mr. Liu launched a volunteer team with more than 20 people at the beginning. Because most of them are retirees living nearby, Mr. Liu seriously arranges three people in a group to carry out voluntary activities. The main contents are to dissuade uncivilized behaviors and protect the safety of the park, such as supervising the implementation of the regulations on forbidding sound to enter the park, preventing picking branches, dissuading littering to the Lake, and reminding the children and the elderly by the lake to pay attention to safety, etc.

July 2011 fishing incident

Due to the rising temperature, the fish in Caozi lake of Baodao Park breed rapidly, and the park office managers find that the number of fishermen is increasing day by day when they patrol the lake every day. In the face of this situation, the staff first publicize the "Wuhan Lake Management Regulations", "Baodao Park Management plan" and the knowledge of lake protection to the tourists, but the effect is very little, and even the rude tourists will be insulted. At the end of the day, more than 100 people went fishing, which made the management of the park very anxious. The park office took corresponding management measures as soon as possible, communicated with the person in charge of the street and community for many times, and did a good job of coordination in the community
