Development history

Huanggang park has been used as urban park planning land in Shenzhen city master plan as early as 1986, but it has not been built because of the urban construction and development conditions at that time. Since 1996, with the planning of Futian central city, the construction and use of Yitian village, a large residential area in Futian District, and the development and construction of a large area of residential land around the park, especially along the way As the officers and soldiers of Shenzhen base of PLA stationed in Hong Kong are stationed in Shenzhen, the requirements for urban environmental quality are increasing day by day. It is urgent to build and open the planned Park as soon as possible. On December 4, 1996, at an on-site office meeting, Vice Mayor Wang Ju arranged that qiuyuling (where the park is located) should be built into a park, with Vice Mayor Wang Ju and vice mayor yuan ruwen as the general responsible persons, and listed as one of the ten practical things for the private sector of Shenzhen municipal government in 1997, with a construction fund of 10 million yuan.

On December 20, 1996, in accordance with the instructions of the municipal government on the construction of Huanggang Park, in order to strengthen the preparation and management of Huanggang Park, the Municipal Urban Management Office reported to the Municipal Bureau of personnel for approval, and established Huanggang Park Management Office. According to the No. 111 document of Shenbian Office of the municipal organization committee, it belongs to the directly affiliated business unit, with a department level and 15 business establishment, and the funds are disbursed from the urban maintenance fee. The main responsibility is the construction and management of Huanggang park. And quickly set up a leading group for the preparation of the new park, and organized the seconded personnel to carry out the work.

In March 1997, the construction of the park was in full swing. On September 30, 1997, as a gift to celebrate the return of Hong Kong, part of the park was completed and opened to the public. On March 30, 1998, at the 10th plenary meeting of the leading group of the municipal double support office, the construction of Huanggang Park Phase II was listed as one of the practical tasks of the military and the local governments in 1998. On July 30, 1998, at the mobilization meeting for the city to create a civilized city and civilized district, Mayor Li Zibin specially mentioned in his speech, "do a good job in the construction of Huanggang double support Park, and make it a large-scale national defense and patriotism education base.".

With the construction and development of the park and the increase of personnel, the Preparatory Committee of the labor union was established on June 5, 1998, and the Huanggang Park Branch Committee of the Communist Party of China was established on October 30, 1998. On March 4, 2004, Huanggang park working committee was established. Huanggang Park Youth League branch was established on May 20, 2004.

In March 2009, it was awarded the title of five-star park by the Municipal Urban Management Bureau.

Since the park is open at the same time of construction, in the early stage of construction, the green management and security personnel are allocated according to their own open area and the number of green planting maintenance tasks. With the development of the park, the park gradually implemented the contract management method to solve the greening management and security work.

The park covers an area of 17.3 hectares. The existing green area is 151000 square meters, including 96000 square meters of grassland and 55000 square meters of mountain forest.

The park is a hilly platform, mainly by the combination of forest and lawn, to retain the original landscape of the mountain, dense forest, flowers. The highest point of the mountain is located in the southeast of the park, with an altitude of 52.8 meters. The other two sub peaks are 42.2 meters and 20.6 meters respectively.

Enjoy the beautiful scenery in the verdant mountains, breathe the fresh air, and listen to the birds' singing, which is the fun of outdoor leisure.

The chess garden scenic spot is close to the mountain in the South and the big lawn in the north, which is the finishing touch of the scenic spots in the garden. The outer square is mainly composed of sparse forest and gentle slope, providing visitors with a large lawn for sports, leisure and games. The inner court is quiet and elegant with different scenery. There are three viewing pavilions on the top of the mountain: Huanggang Pavilion, Jicui Pavilion and Jinxiu Pavilion. You can have a long-distance view on the top of the mountain, take a rest, cool wind and fatigue.

In addition, there are a large number of characteristic landscape tree species in the park, mainly including Lagerstroemia speciosa, Lagerstroemia speciosa, Canarium bracteatum, Elaeagnus angustifolia, Erythrina cristata, etc. Through scientific allocation, careful conservation, and making full use of the diversity of natural plant modeling and seasonal changes, the characteristic tree species have strong ornamental and ecological cultural taste.

Huanggang Park in Shenzhen is adjacent to Fuqiang road in the south, Yitian road in the west, Yunding Cuifeng in the East and Gonghe Shijia community in the north. It is located at the south end of the North-South central axis of Futian central district.
