Liuzhou Zoo

Liuzhou zoo, located at 89 Hangyin Road, Liuzhou City, is a national AAAA tourist attraction. It covers an area of 413.5 mu, about 5 km from the center of Liuzhou. Liuzhou zoo receives more than 1 million domestic and foreign tourists (Times) (including special groups) every year. The park is the only natural ecological theme park in Liuzhou city that integrates artificial breeding, exhibition and popular science education of wild animals. It was named as the popular science education base of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in 2014.

In 1956, the Liuzhou municipal government allocated 7000 yuan to build the zoo, which was originally located in liuhou Park in Liuzhou city. It was completed in 1958 and officially opened to the public, with a total area of 15 mu. On May 30, 2003, the construction of a new park was started at the oil depot site of the former Liuzhou airport. On October 1, the park's leisure and fitness area was built and opened to tourists, named Maohe Park of Liuzhou city. On July 28, 2005, liuhou Park Zoo moved to Maohe Park Zoo. In 2006, it was changed to Liuzhou zoo.

Main animals

More than 700 animals of more than 100 species are on display. There are open spaces for tigers, lions, leopards, bears and so on. They can roam in the grass and trees. They are much more fierce and no longer show the fatigue of "trapped animals" as before.

Sika deer, camels, ostriches, goats, etc. are mixed and raised in low-lying shrubs and forests, and the degree of freedom is greatly increased. Visitors can enjoy the living scenes of animals close to the original ecology by traveling all the way on the zigzag wooden trestle. They can also go down to the ground through the special stairs to get in close contact with animals.

Bird park also allows visitors to enter the wide cage, in the bridge between the water to watch birds, and animals live in harmony.

In addition to the fact that most of the animals in the park are relocated from the old zoo, new species such as Swertia, red panda and camel have been added. The most rare one is the "most mysterious bird in the world" - Hainan tiger spotted oyster, which is the second zoo with this bird in China.

Nanning zoo presented 1 African lion, 6 ostriches, 10 white peacocks and 2 ponies, which enriched the variety of Liuzhou zoo. The panda pavilion was officially opened to tourists on April 19, 2013, setting off an unprecedented viewing boom for citizens and tourists.

There are two male giant pandas on display in the panda museum, namely "Shulin", a native of Sichuan Province, and "Mingbang", a returnee from Japan. The two giant pandas were exhibited in Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, Sichuan Province.

A winding mountain has its own barrier, and the zoo is built close to the mountain. The leisure and fitness area can enter the park without buying tickets. The area includes entertainment area, office area, fitness square, amusement park, viewing Pavilion, etc.

The animal viewing area is built in a semi ecological form, with panda hall, aquarium, beast hall, small animal hall, hundred birds garden, monkey mountain, herbivore stocking area, elephant hall and other venues; the planning and construction of the zoo is closely linked to the "ecological" theme, with trees in the park, birds singing and flowers fragrance, fully demonstrating the harmony between man and nature, which makes people nostalgic for the return.

Panda House

The Panda House of Liuzhou zoo was officially opened to tourists on April 19, 2013, setting off an unprecedented viewing boom for citizens and tourists. Panda Pavilion is located in the north of the zoo park, including indoor exhibition hall, outdoor exhibition hall, panda bedroom, feed room, storage room, guard room and monitoring room. The total area of indoor exhibition hall and outdoor exhibition hall is 500-600 square meters.

Shulin was born in Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding on July 5, 2007. Shu Lin is lively and active. She likes to climb trees and play. She is a very proud panda with personality. She often fights with her father for wisdom and courage.

Mingbang and aibang are the last couple of Meimei and Yongming living in Baibang wildlife park in Japan. Mingbang was born on December 23, 2006 and met with the public after returning home with her sister aibang on February 26, 2013.

Black bear house

The black bear Hall of Liuzhou zoo was built and put into use during the Spring Festival in 2019. The bear hall covers an area of about 1000 square meters, including the outdoor activity area of black bear, the indoor bedroom area of black bear and the tourist viewing area.

The outdoor activity area of black bear is designed with an artificial "big tree", which is equipped with ladder passage and slide passage, and a small pool is built above the "tree", which can accommodate multiple black bears to play on the "tree". The design of "big tree" not only makes the venue more beautiful, but also improves the activity range of black bear, enhances the activity ability of black bear, and has a positive effect on the health of black bear.

The visitors' viewing area is set at a height of about 3 meters from the ground where the black bear is located. At the same time, a 1.2-meter-high tempered glass enclosure is used, and a steel frame guardrail is set to protect it. Compared with the traditional viewing mode of viewing through glass, the viewing mode of the new bear museum can make visitors closer to the black bear, watch the black bear from an all-round perspective, and even smell the smell of the black bear, Feel the cry of the black bear.

Herbivore area

The herbivore zoo covers an area of 20000 square meters. The top of the park is a pedestrian wooden plank road, and the bottom is an animal activity area. The wooden plank road runs through the herbivore area. Peacocks, squirrels and other small animals are placed on the trees beside the wooden plank road. If the tourists are lucky enough, they can even take a picture with the little squirrels.

There are dozens of herbivores such as red kangaroo, red panda, alpaca, sika deer, deer, water deer, African ostrich, yak, camel, porcupine, EMU, donkey and so on. Walking on the winding wooden plank road in the herbivore area, and going deep into the life territory of sika deer, ostrich, kangaroo and other animals, people can enjoy the life scene of herbivores chasing each other in the natural state, the coexistence of green hills and trees, and the happiness of people and animals.

Marine Aquarium

The marine aquarium is the first large-scale marine aquarium in Liuzhou city. It covers an area of about 1600 square meters and has 47 exhibition tanks. Among them, the largest exhibition tank in the museum is also equipped with a tunnel for visitors. The 11 meter long and 4.5-meter-wide visiting tunnel is made of transparent acrylic arc-shaped plates. Fish can be seen on both sides and on the top of the tunnel. Visitors will have a wonderful feeling of being on the bottom of the sea when they enter the tunnel.

There are more than 100 kinds of marine aquatic animals in the aquarium, including white fin shark, black fin shark, lemon shark, etc. The clown fish in the cartoon "Nemo", as well as many other colorful tropical fish, will also become the guests in the museum. In addition, sea turtles, seahorses, starfish, sea urchins, horseshoe crabs (horseshoe crabs) and other marine "residents" also live in the aquarium.

The water in the museum is made of coral reef salt, trace elements and other ingredients mixed with water. At the same time, in order to keep the water clean, two sets of water circulation equipment are installed to keep the water quality stable.

Bird Garden

The hundred birds garden is built close to the mountain, covering an area of 3000 square meters. The garden is full of trees, small bridges and flowing water. The scenery is unique. The birds flying on the top, walking on the ground, swimming in the water, and flying in the flowers are wonderful. Looking up, we can see yellow billed egrets perching on the treetops; black swans playing and wandering in the water; red crowned cranes dancing gracefully; crowned cranes, peacocks and many other birds strolling in the garden.

Dinosaur parent child Park

In the middle of the park is the dynamic dinosaur parent-child Park newly built by the zoo. The charming domed dragon and Stegosaurus, the fierce looking Triceratops with gentle heart, the flying expert pterosaurs and the Ultimate Hunter Tyrannosaurus Rex will take you on a time-space journey back to the Jurassic era 200 million years ago.
