The stone slab old street of ancient Phoenix is also called the street of Six Dynasties. Its south gate is the only preserved city gate in Northern Jiangsu at present. In the 13th year of Tang Zhenguan, Wei Zheng visited the East China Sea fortress and ascended Phoenix City. He wrote the title book "Ninghai gate" and set up Leshi in the south gate. In the 11th year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty, when huangjinshao, the magistrate of Haizhou, was repairing the city wall, he personally wrote "ancient Phoenix City" for the gate. It has been more than 100 years, but it still has the same charm. There are fewer and fewer green brick and red tile stone roads, where there is a strong cultural atmosphere on both sides of this old street.
Fenghuang street has a total length of Three Li and ninety-nine steps from the gate to the north, so there is a rumor that "from the south to the north, there is a nod from three li". This street is a well-known "keel shaped" qingslate road. A clear track of ancient ruts on the slate road has witnessed the prosperity of this old street in the past. There used to be many simple "citizens". Each family had three or four courtyards. Most of the first courtyards near the street were used for opening stores. There were all kinds of department stores here. It is said that the three surnames of Jiang, Yang and Wu lived in the old street for a time, and they were good at division of labor: Wu family money, Jiang family mouth, and Yang family running errands. They united with each other and maintained the long-term prosperity and stability of the old street.
