Shuiguan Great Wall scenic spot is located in Badaling Town, Yanqing County, about 70 kilometers away from the center of Beijing. Shuiguan Great Wall

gold-fish pond

The original site of the goldfish pond is about 50 meters below the subgrade at the south entrance of the tanqin gorge tunnel. There was a pool in the original place, in which a big goldfish was born. According to folklore, if there is a drought in Guangou, as long as you dig out a fish pond, it will rain, which is very effective. Later, the pool dried up and the goldfish disappeared. In the 1980s, when building a highway, we had to pass through the goldfish pond. We specially built a stone niche, built a square pond inside, and inscribed "goldfish pond" on the forehead. The stone carvings of the Yuan Dynasty unearthed in the construction, with a history of 700 years, were placed in front of the pond. In the 1990s, the construction of Badaling Expressway borrowed shifosigou spring water to move the goldfish pond here.

Wulang statue

At the entrance of the tunnel of tanqin gorge, there is a two meter high statue of Buddha, which is said to be Yang Wulang. It is said that the valley under this rock ridge is the most dangerous part of Guangou. The legendary "Five ghosts" often haunt, so this Buddha statue is carved as a town to protect pedestrians.

Foyetai

In 1986, when the goldfish pond was relocated, stone carvings of the Yuan Dynasty with a history of more than 700 years were unearthed. These stone carvings have simple carving techniques and unique costumes, which vividly reflect the carving technology and social form at that time. In order to protect these cultural relics, a platform was built at the entrance of Shuiguan Great Wall scenic area for tourists to watch.

"Sichuan No.1" building

Along the Shuiguan Great Wall to the East, through the two gates and three gates, you can see a majestic enemy tower. The lower steps of the enemy tower are as high as 90 cm, which is the only one seen along the Great Wall. The enemy tower has six holes and two floors, and the building is ingenious. On the roll hole, there is a horizontal plaque "No.1 Sichuan character" 3.5 meters from the ground. This enemy tower is the starting point of the east of the Great Wall along the Badaling line, which is located at the foot of Huading mountain in Sichuan Province It got its name.

Zhan Tianyou's former residence

Zhan Tianyou, a native of Nanhai, Guangdong Province, was born in 1861. He graduated from Yale University in 1881 and returned to China. In 1905, he was appointed as an engineer of the General Administration of Beijing Zhangjiakou Railway. Under the humiliation of foreign powers, he built the 201 km Beijing Zhangjiakou Railway in four years, two years ahead of schedule. He overcame the difficulty of building roads with a straight distance of 1000 meters and had to climb 33 meters. He invented the "herringbone" switch For the Chinese. When Zhan Tianyou was building the railway, he once lived in the family of Ji in Shifosi village for a year, and his relationship was very harmonious. His house is still in good condition, and his descendants also visited him here. In 2003, with the strong support of his descendants, the house where Zhan Tianyou once lived was changed into an exhibition hall of Zhan Tianyou's old house for later generations to look forward to and remember.

Luotuoshi

On the east side of the parking lot in front of Shuiguan Great Wall scenic area, there are several huge stones, which are like camels lying on the mountain, hence the name camel stone.

Tanqin Gorge

From the north entrance of the tanqin gorge tunnel to the side of the stream, the cliff is steep and not far to the East. The inscription on the cliff is engraved with six characters "tanqin gorge and wuguitou". It used to be the famous landscape of Guangou: "tanqin gorge".

In ancient times, here, the road twists and turns, picturesque mountains and rivers, two mountains facing each other, stone wall opposite, Qingxi middle stream. The stream flows down the gentle slope and flows between the rocks. There is a sound in the stream. The stone walls on both sides resonate with it. During the construction of the Beijing Zhangjiakou Railway, the hills and valleys in the Northeast were leveled, the Badaling highway was built, and the valleys were filled with sand and stones. Nowadays, the inscriptions on the stone wall depend on each other, and the beautiful sound of the stream swirling in the canyon is no longer there.

Buddhist temple

According to the records of Xiguan in the Ming Dynasty, the stone Buddha Temple was built in the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty because of the stone carving of the great compassion Buddha statue in the north of Juyongguan. Shifosi village is located beside the temple, which is named after the temple. The stone Buddha Temple was destroyed by the Allied forces of the eight countries in 1900. When the great wall of Shuiguan was restored in the early 1990s, the stone Buddha Temple was moved to the current site for reconstruction. Five cross legged sitting stone Buddhas unearthed from the goldfish pond were displayed on the existing platform for visitors to visit.
