Chengdu Museum (Chengdu China shadow play Museum) is a public welfare institution of Chengdu culture, radio, television and Tourism Bureau. Chengdu Museum was founded in September 1958. At that time, it was known as the "Preparatory Committee of Chengdu Local Records Museum". Li Jieren, a famous writer and vice mayor of Chengdu, was the director of the Preparatory Committee. He was responsible for the collection, investigation, excavation and preservation of the city's cultural relics. As of October 1962, the Preparatory Committee had collected and kept tens of thousands of cultural relics and materials. In the same year, Sichuan Provincial Bureau of culture decided to postpone the establishment of Chengdu Local Records Museum.
