brief introduction
Wuyou mountain, originally connected with Lingyun mountain, formed the largest "Lidui" in ancient China more than 2000 years ago when Li Bing, the governor of Qin and Shu dynasties, dug the Mahao River to divert the flood. Wuyou mountain, formerly known as Wuniu mountain, was renamed when Huang Tingjian, a famous poet of the Northern Song Dynasty, lived there. Wuyou mountain has lush forests and elegant scenery. There are Wuyou temple, eryatai and Jingyun pavilion built in Tang Dynasty.
Name source
It is said that in ancient times, there was a god named Qingyi who planted mulberry and raised silkworms on the mountain. In order to thank his people for sericulture, people worshipped him on the mountain. In Han Dynasty, Ban Gu thought that there was a stone room named "jade lady room" at the foot of the mountain, where the God of green clothes lived. Wuyou temple gate couplet: "Haixue Tongchao yunvfang" means connecting with Dongting and Baoshan. Wuyou mountain, also known as "Lidui", is one of the achievements of Li Bing, the governor of Shu, in water control more than 2000 years ago. According to the book of historical records on rivers and canals, "Shu defends the ice and chisels away the pile to avoid the harm of foaming water." Qingyi mountain is just at the confluence of Minjiang River, Qingyi River and Dadu River (moshui). Moshui comes from the West. The waves beat on the shore and the water pulse drifts fast. In order to divert the flood and reduce the water potential, Li Bing dug a Mahao spillway at the junction of Lingyun mountain and Wuyou mountain, and led some river water down around Wuyou mountain, making Wuyou mountain an island in the water, that is, "Lidui". Some people call it "the other island in Qingyi" and compare it with Mount Putuo. The origin of the word "Wuyou" is that the mountain is called Wuniu mountain in ancient times because it looks like Wuniu and protrudes from the water. In the Song Dynasty, Huang Tingjian, a poet, felt that it was not elegant, so he changed his name to Wuyou mountain, meaning that the mountain was lush in bamboo trees, especially dark green. On the other hand, it is said that the original incarnation of Guanyin Bodhisattva "mianran" was made of copper in Tang Dynasty, also known as the Buddha statue of "Master Wu you", which is named "Wu you".
scenery
Wuyou mountain is opposite to Lingyun mountain, about 500 meters apart. Mahao Hongqiao connects the two mountains. The poet has a saying that he should share half a seat with Lingyun. Surrounded by water, Wuyou mountain looks like a green pile that will never float away, like a shining emerald inlaid on the shimmering Minjiang River ribbon.
It's convenient for land and water to climb Wuyou mountain. By land, you can go from Lingyun mountain to Mahao cliff Tomb of the Eastern Han Dynasty, cross Hongqiao mountain, or take a bus from Leshan Mountain to the foot of Wuyou mountain, and then walk on the mountain. By water, you can take a boat at Leshan port or bizijie Wharf at the foot of Lingyun mountain. First, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Buddha, Lingyun and Wuyou in the water, then you can reach the foot of Wuyou mountain, and then you can climb up the stairs.
From the waterway to the shore, through the mountain gate, there is a stone tablet with the word "Lidui" engraved on it. Along the stone steps, the air is very fresh and refreshing. Halfway up the mountain, there is a stop Pavilion. After climbing the stone steps, you can reach the gate of Wuyou temple. On the left side of the temple gate, there is a memorial archway with the four characters "deep in Wansong". From the front of the archway to the left, there is Huacheng Pavilion in the middle of the mountain, and then there is Hongqiao, which is the land road connecting with Lingyun mountain.
The scenery of Wuyou mountain is beautiful. Whether it is the spring rising of the three rivers or the autumn of the misty rain, it is very poetic. Zhang Chuanshan, a man of the Qing Dynasty, has a poem praising: "in ancient Jiazhou on the West Bank of Lingyun, the river is murmuring around guoliu, and the green shadows can't float away. Push the boat to see Wuyou from three sides." In addition to Wuyu temple, which is a famous temple for thousands of years, there are many places of interest on the mountain, such as Kuangyi Pavilion, eryatai, Jingyun Pavilion, jiemao Pavilion, Qingyi jingshe, lunzhu terrace and so on. In 1980, Wuyou mountain was announced as a cultural relic protection unit in Sichuan Province. In 1989, "giant Sleeping Buddha" was discovered, and Wuyou mountain was considered as the head of "Sleeping Buddha".
