Kang renboqi
Gangrenboqi, together with Meili Snow Mountain, Animaqing mountain and gaduojuevo in Yushu, Qinghai Province, is known as the four sacred mountains of Tibetan Buddhism. The Gangdise mountains run between the Kunlun Mountains in the north and the Himalayas in the south, like a giant dragon lying on the vast plateau of Ali in Western Tibet. Its high head, like a great pyramid, stands on the plateau of aripulan. This is Gangrenboqi, the main peak at an altitude of 6656 meters.
Gangrenboqifeng is a sacred mountain among many religions. Sanskrit is called jiluosa mountain, and the northern foot of ganrenboqi peak is the birthplace of Shiquan River in the upper reaches of Indus River. It is said that Yongzhong Bon religion originated in this mountain; Hinduism believes that this mountain is the residence of Shiva and the center of the world; Jainism believes that this mountain is the place where its ancestor reyhabanasha got the Tao; Tibetan Buddhism believes that this mountain is the residence of Shengle Vajra, which represents boundless happiness, and there are many believers here all year round.
According to the little dictionary of Buddhism, Xumi, the name of the mountain, is the center of a small world. In the pre Buddhist period of Xiangxiong Yongzhong, Gangrenboqi was known as the "nine heavy (ten thousand) character mountain". It is said that 360 gods of Bon religion lived here. The founder of Bon, dun Bashin, came down from the sky. This mountain is the place of landing. In the Jainism rising in the 5th-6th century BC, Gangrenboqi was called "ashtapoda", which is the highest mountain.
Mountain appearance
Kangrinboqe is a world recognized holy mountain, known as the king of holy mountain. At the same time, it is recognized as the center of the world by Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism, Tibetan original yongzhongben religion and ancient Jainism. Gangren Boqi is not the highest mountain in this area, but only its snow covered peak can shine strangely in the sunshine. In addition, the special shape of the mountain is quite different from the surrounding mountains, which makes people have to be filled with religious piety and wonder.
Gangrenboqi is located at 81.3 ° E and 31 ° n (in the north of baga Township, Pulan County, Ali Prefecture, Tibet, baga township is also the starting and ending point of Zhuanshan). At an altitude of 6638 meters (6714 meters), it is the main peak of the Gangdise mountains. Gangrenboqifeng is like a pyramid (known by Tibetans as "the handle of a stone mill"), and its four walls are very symmetrical.
From the south, we can see its famous symbol: the Buddhist ten thousand character grid (the symbol of spiritual power in Buddhism, which means the immortality of Buddhism and represents auspiciousness and protection) is composed of a huge vertical ice trough and a horizontal rock layer. Ganrenboqi peak is often surrounded by white clouds, and the local people think it is very lucky to see the peak.
Source of water system
The huge area around the Gangdise mountains is a watershed of several water systems: the Shiquan River and its tributary garzangbo in the upper reaches of the Indus River in the northwest, the jinmeicuo Lake in the north is also one of the sources of the Shiquan River, the Xiangquan River in the southwest, the internal river system in the South (to mapayongcuo and Laangcuo, Laangcuo is also a source of the Xiangquan River), and the Peacock River in the south is a part of the Ganges River In the East is the Maquan river system in the upper reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo Brahmaputra River.
It can be seen that all the large-scale water systems in the Indian subcontinent originate from the huge area around Gung Rinpoche. Therefore, the religions in the Indian subcontinent and the religions affected by them regard it as the source of all rivers and the world center.
The largest river in Tibet is the Yarlung Zangbo River, and its source area is also respected.
History and culture
The meaning of naming
Gangrenboqi means "mountain of gods" in Tibetan and "heaven of Shiva" in Sanskrit (Shiva is the God of Hinduism), and yongzhongben religion originated from it. According to the records in the Indian epic Ramayana and Tibetan historical books Gangdise mountain Haizhi and qushishu, people's worship of Gangrenboqi can be traced back to about 1000 BC.
According to the classic description of yongzhongben religion, a river flows down from Gangrenboqi into the unconquerable Lake - mapanyong lake. There are four major rivers which originate from this and flow to the East, South, West and North.
Flowing to the East is the dangquezangbo Maquan River (the lower reaches is the Brahmaputra River), rich in emeralds, and people drinking this water are as strong as langju; flowing to the south is the majiazangbo Kongque River (the lower reaches is the Ganges River), rich in silver sand, and people drinking this water are as lovely as peacocks; flowing to the west is the langqinzangbo Xiangquan River (the lower reaches is the sutleji River), rich in gold, and rich in water The people who drink this water are as strong as elephants; the river that flows to the north is the sengezangbushizhun River (downstream is the Indus River), which is rich in diamond deposits, and the people who drink this water are as brave as lions. Every year there are an endless stream of pilgrims from India, Bhutan, Nepal and the major Tibetan inhabited areas in China, which makes the sacred meaning here last for thousands of years.
Buddhist literature
It is said that the most famous Xumi mountain in Buddhism refers to it. According to the dictionary of Buddhism, Xu MI,
The name of the mountain is the center of a small world. In the pre Buddhist period of Xiangxiong Yongzhong, Gangrenboqi was known as the "Jiuchong (Wanzi) Mountain". It is said that 360 gods of this religion lived here. This mountain is the place where the founder of Yong Zhong Ben religion, dun Ba Xin, came down from the sky. In the 5-6 century B.C. Jainism, Gangrenboqi is known as "ashtavada", which is the highest mountain. It is the place where the founder of Jainism, rezhabanasha, was liberated.
The Hindus call the mountain Mt.Kailash And I think it's the center of the world. Shiva, the most powerful and powerful of the three Hindu gods, lives here. The upper reaches of the Indus River and Ganges River all originate here, so it's not surprising to see a large number of Indian pilgrims in gangrinpochi.
For centuries, Gung Rinpoche has been the place of pilgrims and explorers, but so far no one has been able to climb the mountain, or dare to invade the center of the world. It's only in recent years that travelers have turned their eyes on this holy land, but the number is still small, which may be a matter to be thankful for.
There are five temples around Gangrenboqi. Nianri temple is the first stop of Zhuanshan, followed by lapu temple, songchu Temple (also known as huanbian Temple), Jiangzha temple and Sailong temple. The latter two temples are located in the inner line. There are many popular legends in these five temples, and there are abundant carvings, statues, murals and other cultural relics, but now they are all destroyed to varying degrees.
Mythological allusions
Hinduism regards mount Goren Boqi as the residence of the great black God, while Jainism regards mount Goren Boqi as a spiritual holy mountain. Yongzhongben religion originated in Gangdise mountain area, and the worship of Gangrenboqi holy mountain has a long history. Gangrenboqi means "mountain of gods" in Tibetan and is the main peak of Gangdese mountain. Hinduism, Indian Buddhism, Jainism and yongzhongben religion have different beliefs and gods, but they all think that Gangrenboqi is "the center of the world" and regarded it as a holy mountain, which makes Gangrenboqi have the sacred of multiple religions, thus emitting the halo and aura of various beliefs, becoming the Pantheon and the Oriental God It's Mount Olympus.
Although the altitude of Gangrenboqi is only 6656m, it is not only inferior to other mountains of more than 8000 meters in Tibet, but also inferior to the neighboring namunani peak (7694m). However, it is the most famous holy mountain in Asian history. Because it is considered to be the center of the world, it has become the pilgrimage center of Tibetan Buddhism, Hinduism, yongzhongben religion and other religions. The shape of Gangrenboqi mountain is easy to identify. The main peak is covered with ice and snow all the year round. It looks like a round crown pyramid. The four walls are very symmetrical. It is surrounded by eight petals of lotus. The body of the mountain is made of crystal, just like a highly skilled jade ice sculpture. From the south, we can see its famous symbol: the Buddhist Wanzige emblem, which is composed of a huge vertical ice trough and horizontal rock strata. Ganrenbo Qifeng is often surrounded by white clouds, which makes it hard to see its true appearance. However, in the sunshine, it will flash a strange colorful light, which is particularly dazzling.
Perhaps no one dares to offend the divine power of the "World Center", and Goran Rinpoche is still the virgin peak that no one has ever reached. In Tibetan language, it means "mountain of gods", while in Sanskrit it means "heaven of Shiva", which is also called "heaven of gods" in Indian mythology. In history, many eminent monks at home and abroad practiced and preached here. Therefore, long ago, it became the common belief center of Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism and the four major sects. It is a place that tens of thousands of believers of all ethnic groups in China, India and Nepal yearn for.
According to Tibetan Buddhism, it is the Wuliang palace of esoteric music. The mountains and rivers around it are all part of the palace, which contains profound religious meaning. At the same time, Gangrenboqi is also a holy land for many Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and eminent monks to bless and practice. It is said that when Sakyamuni Buddha turned the Falun, he made three Buddha statues, which were worshipped in the divine world, the lu world and the human world. Gongbu, the king of Luocha, used Shenbian to welcome the Buddha statue of Shizun in the world, but he didn't have the special bed to worship the Buddha, so he wanted to use Shenbian to carry back to the holy mountain of Gangrenboqi. At this time, Sakyamuni and five hundred Arhats immediately flew to the holy mountain of Gangrenboqi, leaving footprints on the rocks of "five hundred Arhats gathering basin" or "shangtan city" in the south of Gangrenboqi, and at the same time leaving footprints on the four corners of the holy mountain, which is called "the four nails of diesi immovable". In this way, the king of Luocha could not carry on his back
