Yunnan Art Museum is a non-profit public welfare art museum with legal personality under the leadership of Yunnan Provincial Department of culture. Its purpose is to adhere to the party's literary and art policies and carry forward national culture. Brief introduction of Art Museum

Yunnan Art Museum was founded in 1984. It works together with Yunnan Academy of painting. It has 20 employees, under the leadership of Yunnan Provincial Department of culture. It is a department level art institution with a group of capable and efficient art workers and high-level professional creators.

Responsible for the province's art creation, ethnic folk art collation and research, art treasures collection and art theory research, holding art exhibitions, carrying out mass and social art activities and foreign art exchanges, it is the only important work unit of art collection and art creation in Yunnan Province. Yunnan Art Museum has been established for 24 years. Yunnan Painting Academy (including the art photography Office of the former provincial Department of Culture) has successfully hosted more than 20 medium-sized art exhibitions of national activities in the past 32 years. It has carried out art exchange activities with some provinces, cities, Hong Kong and Macao in China. It has visited and received artists and art professional institutions from the United States, Italy, Japan, Australia, Germany and other countries Yunnan painting school is famous all over the world.

Over the years, it has won more than 30 national art exhibitions, national print exhibitions, national single art exhibitions and overseas art awards. Yunnan Art Museum collects more than 100 excellent works of contemporary domestic and local painters, more than 100 ancient murals of Yunnan ethnic minorities, more than 300 silver ornaments of Yunnan ethnic minorities and more than 100 handicrafts of Yunnan ethnic minorities. There are 120 excellent out of print woodcut paintings in Yunnan.
