Diamond Hill
Diamond hill is one of the peaks in Kowloon, Hong Kong. The area near it is also called diamond hill. Diamond hill is located to the east of Wong Tai Sin, to the south of Tsz Yun Shan, to the west of Niu Chi Wan and to the north of Xin Pu gang. It is mainly a residential area.
The origin of the name
Diamond hill does not have any real diamond mines. As for the reason why Diamond Hill got its name, there are many explanations. The most popular explanation is that the word "Zuan" in the Chinese name is a verb, which only means to drill the rock. There is also a quarry near Diamond Hill, which can echo this explanation. Other explanations include that the stones and minerals produced by the stone mining sites near diamond hill are more shiny, or the peak of diamond hill looks like a diamond, or the Pugang Village Road, Fushan road and Longxiang road in the area form a diamond.
