Upper Changsha Beach
Upper Cheung Sha beach is the longest beach in Hong Kong. Located in the south of Lantau Island in the new territories, Cheung Sha beach is also connected with Tong Fu beach on the westernmost side of Lantau Island. Near the upper Changsha beach is the lower Changsha beach, but the upper Changsha beach is not connected with the lower Changsha beach. Upper Changsha beach is the closest beach to Tung Chung station on Lantau Island. It's a very long natural beach, and it takes at least 25 minutes to run back and forth.
history
Before the development of the outlying islands in the 1970s, all beaches were open. However, after the opening of the Meiwo ship route to and from central, the flow of people in yinkuang Bay began to increase. However, Changsha was very remote at that time, so there was no obvious flow of foreign people.
After the opening of the Tung Chung Line of the Hong Kong Metro and the Hong Kong International Airport in 1998, urban residents have more choices of land and rail transportation, and Changsha beach has become a favorite for foreign tourists.
For many years, going to Changsha beach has been able to attract Islanders (especially local residents) to swim freely. Every holiday morning, many young men and women will run on the beach or on the road before swimming, because swimming on the shore will consume the most physical strength, with 1400 meters in one stroke.
