Historical evolution
Daxingguo Temple (formerly daxingguo Temple) is located in Xinglong Township, Western Chang'an District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province.
According to the records of seven words in Xianning annals, daxingguo temple was the horse training ground of Tang Taizong before it was built, and Xingguo temple was built in the first year of Tang Zhenguan (627 AD). In the south of the temple is Yandu village, and in the north is bianpo village. It is five li long, with 36 halls and more than 100 monks. It is a royal temple. After the change of Xuanwumen, Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty and Wei Zheng were equal to the "Xiande hall" of Xingguo temple. They discussed the general plan of governing the country and advocated "Yan Wu Xiu Wen". In the Tang Dynasty, the temple was large-scale, and there was a beautiful talk about "the old monk riding a horse to close the back door". In the first year of Yonghui of Tang Dynasty (650 AD), Xue gang was hiding in the temple because of anti Tang. There is a pagoda on the west side of the temple. Master Xuanzang, the eminent monk of Tang Dynasty, came to Chang'an from Luoyang for the second time. He once joined the temple and traveled westward from the pagoda. Therefore, the temple is famous for "the first stop for Buddhist scriptures of Tang Dynasty".
Reconstruction period
Xingguo temple was destroyed several times in history. It was first burned by the war in the late Song Dynasty and rebuilt in the 52nd year of Qianlong in Qing Dynasty. During the reign of Tongzhi, one of the torches was destroyed due to ethnic conflicts. During the third reign of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty, the local gentry united with 33 villages nearby to build Xingguo temple again, and built four Tianwang hall, 24 Zhutian hall and Guanyin hall.
In the third year of the people's Republic of China (1951 A.D.), the feudal superstition was broken down and the front two halls were demolished. In the cultural revolution, the rear hall was demolished. The only two monks were ordered to return to the secular life. In 1993, in order to promote Buddhism, Li Fuyin and other residents of dongganhe village began to rebuild. When he broke the ground, he got more than 20 pieces of Buddhist objects and recovered a remnant stele from the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty. On the original site, the middle hall, namely the hall of Sakyamuni Buddha, was restored, and the red brick walls, namely the couch room and the coffin room, were built.
In 2006, due to the need of building a new campus of Xi'an University of Electronic Science and technology, the temple moved to about 500 meters north of the original site.

The current Abbot
The current abbot is Shangneng Xiada monk. He became a monk in 1988. He was ordained by juzujie in 1990. He once served under the seat of Zen master huixiajing in Zhongnan mountain. For many years, he devoted himself to promoting Zen. The great monk is now building a new Xingguo temple with his disciples, which will be renamed as daxingguo temple.
When monk Shangneng Xiada became a monk in Kongtong mountain in 1988, he traveled back and forth for two hours every day, carrying two buckets of water from the foot of the mountain to the mountain, and constantly copying scriptures. In 1989, he went to Shaolin Temple to study Zen and martial arts. During that time, he also went to Yunju temple in Jiangxi Province and Wolong Temple in Xi'an. In particular, he began to serve Shanghui Xiajing Zen master in Wolong Temple in 1990 until his death in 1991. During that time, he practiced Zen day and night and got into the way. After that, he continued to study in various places.
Since returning from Nanputuo in Xiamen in 1994, he has been living in Jingye temple in Zhongnanshan for more than one year and engaged in the restoration and reconstruction of the temple. He also made an appointment with another mage to worship the Bodhisattva on Mount Emei, but failed because of various reasons. After leaving Jingye temple, he went to xihaizi at the foot of Liupan Mountain in Helan Mountains of Ningxia to live in Xihai thatched cottage. For more than two years, he persisted in asceticism and devoted himself to meditation. He has lived in Famen Temple since 1998.
Together with two other mages, he founded the association of promoting Dharma and promoting life, and printed and sent scriptures to make Buddhism prosperous. And help the temple to restore, set up a Zen hall, as the hall leader, greatly promote the style of Buddhism. At the beginning of August 2006, master Mingxian and huizai passed through Famen Temple. They had a good talk with master and had photos as a souvenir: Master Neng was wearing a gray gown in the middle, and the other monks from left to right were master Zhichao, master Mingxian, master huizai (Taiwan) and master laizheng of the Deputy temple.
In the early summer of 2007, Li Xinzhuo and other residents were inspired to build a new Daxing national Zen temple at the invitation of the public!
Zen master Shanghui Xiajing, a 19-year-old monk from Sichuan, went to Gaomin to ask about the purpose of coming to the west after YuanJu. Because he didn't get anything, he went to visit Gaomin all over the world. Later, he went to Gaomin to meditate. He didn't know the cold and heat. After 13 years, he didn't go out of the mountain gate, and was later confirmed by Miao Lao (Zen master Laiguo). After the founding of the people's Republic of China, he died in Zhongnan. During the cultural revolution, he settled in Motianling. He led two monks and common people to practice Zen in the thatched cottages of Wutai in the south of China.
Religious Humanities
After the restoration of religious freedom, Buddhist temples were set up in many Buddhist temples, such as Gaomin temple, Yunju mountain, Manjusri temple, Baoguang temple, Xuefeng temple and Lingyang temple. Later, he went to Wolong Temple, where he set up a special Zen hall to persuade and protect the later generations, and cultivated a lot of Chan Hezi (Neng Shi was also one of them at that time). At the beginning of 1991, he was 86 years old.
