Daluo town is located in the southwest of Menghai County, bordering Bulangshan Township in the East and Southeast, Myanmar in the southwest and West, Xiding Township in the northwest, mengzha town in the north and Menghun town in the northeast. The border line is 36.5 km long. The town government is 3 km, 80 km, 246 km, 500 km and 1250 km away from Mengla County, Jingdong, mishai, Chiang Mai and Bangkok, the fourth special zone in Eastern Shan state of Myanmar. It is the nearest inland port and the most convenient channel from China to Southeast Asian countries.
The administrative area is 385.22 square kilometers, with a permanent population of 22289 (2017).
On August 10, 1991, Daluo port was approved as a class II port by the people's Government of Yunnan Province. On March 25, 1997, China's Daluo Myanmar Mengla port was listed as one of the ports jointly opened by China and Myanmar. On November 13, 2007, it was approved by the State Council as a class I port for international road passenger and freight transport. In 2014, Daluo town achieved a GDP of 411.67 million yuan.
Evolution of organizational system
Daluo, a Dai place name, means a ferry where different nationalities live together. Originally a chieftain land, in 1570, the fourth year of Longqing in the Ming Dynasty, when twelve banners were set up, Jingluo (Daluo), Mengman, mengang, Langwang and mengkang were called "kangluoman".
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), it was under the administration of the third district of the General Administration of border areas of Pusi.
In 1927, when the county was established, it was under the jurisdiction of Fohai county.
In 1950, it was divided into districts, known as banluo District, with jurisdiction over Daluo and Mengban, and subordinate to Fohai county.
In 1953, when the 12th Banna was redrawn, it was under the jurisdiction of Banna Menghun.
In 1963, a town was set up in Menghun District, which is called Daluo town and belongs to Menghai county.
In 1968, it was renamed "May 7th" commune.
In 1973, it was renamed Daluo commune.
In 1982, it was renamed Daluo commune management committee.

Daluo town governs 5 administrative villages including Daluo village, Manxi village, Manshan village, Manhong village and Mengban village, 56 natural villages, including 17 Dai villages, 23 Hani villages and 16 Bulang villages; 35 villager groups are located in mountainous areas, 18 villager groups in dam areas and 3 villager groups in semi mountainous areas.

Daluo town is a hilly area surrounded by mountains, with broad valley basin in the middle and high terrain in the northwest. The territory is connected by mountains and dams. Daluo and Mengban are located in the central part of the town. Surrounded by mountains, the Bazi is undulating in the north and south. There are Manjing mountain, guangkeyun mountain and guangwa mountain in the northwest, and guangmanka mountain and guangbu Heshan mountain in the southeast.

Nanlan River, located in the southwest of the town, is a transit river. It flows into Lancang County, starts from the northwest boundary line of Mengman town in the north, flows through Xiding Township and Daluo Town, and ends with Nanju River in Bulangshan township. Its total length is 169.8 km, of which 134.6 km is the boundary river between China and Myanmar. Nanlan river flows through Chengzi, mantahuo and Longli villager groups in the town from the West. It is also called Daluo river. After leaving Bulangshan Township, it flows into Myanmar and meets the Mekong River in the lower reaches of Lancang River.
Nanlan River, located in the southwest of the town, flows into Myanmar, with a length of 5.5 km and a drainage area of 5.2 square kilometers. It intersects at the man fire site of Nanlan river.
Nanpai River, located in the southwest of the town, originates from nongba'an mountain, flows through Menghun Town, and then joins Nanlan River in the same part of Daluo, with a length of 37 kilometers and a drainage area of 313.8 square kilometers.
Nanban River, located in the northwest of Mengban village, Daluo Town, originates from the northern foot of Bangnan Houshan mountain. It is 14 km long and flows into Nanpai River, with a drainage area of 66.2 square kilometers.
Nanzhuang Longhe River, located in the northeast of the town, originates from the southern foot of Bangnan Houshan, with a length of 10.5 km, a drainage area of 31 square kilometers and irrigated farmland of more than 500 mu.
