Shenzhen Science Museum
synonym
Shenzhen Science Museum generally refers to Shenzhen Science Museum
Founded in 1987, Shenzhen Science Museum is located at the intersection of Shangbu middle road and Shennan Middle Road, Futian District, Shenzhen City, with a construction area of 12000 square meters and a permanent science exhibition hall and activity area of 3000 square meters. It is one of the "eight major cultural facilities" invested and constructed by the municipal government during the "one-time pioneering period" of Shenzhen in the 20th century.
Historical evolution
In the 1980s, Shenzhen Science Museum was one of the eight earliest cultural facilities in Shenzhen.
The project started in 1983 and completed in 1987, lasting for four years. During the construction of the science museum, there is no engineering supervision company. The relevant municipal leaders personally invited an engineer from the first construction engineering company of the province who had assisted Congo, Vietnam and other countries. The municipal basic working group also sent experienced engineers to stay on site from beginning to end to supervise the whole process of the project. In 1987, Shenzhen Science Museum was awarded "high quality model project" by the municipal government. In Wu Lao's words, the quality of the Science Museum has reached the "standard requirements for bridge piers".
In June 1983, he Jingtang (now academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering) and Li Qixia from the architectural design and Research Institute of South China University of technology put forward the design scheme of "octagonal building" in combination with the characteristics of the environment and architectural requirements, which was adopted after being reviewed by the chief engineer's office. "Octagonal building", no matter from which direction can get a larger width. "Octagonal building" is also conducive to the development of conferences, exhibitions and other activities, can get more seats, produce better visual effect. In 1989, this unique project won the excellent design award issued by the Ministry of construction.
The technology is advanced and novel. Yang Beiying, former deputy director of the science museum, recalled that all the glass windows and doors of the science museum were supplied and constructed by the Hong Kong window art company. In order to prevent typhoon, the glass thickness of the daylighting belt of classrooms on the 10th and 3rd floors is 9mm, which is rare in the whole city. The pyramid shaped acrylic light shed in the hall adopts glass curtain wall supplied by the UK, which is the second one in China to use this kind of material after Guangzhou white swan hotel. The international conference hall on the 10th floor of the science museum also uses the simultaneous interpretation system, which is the earliest in Shenzhen. Because of this, in 1986, the international students class of Architecture Department of Tsinghua University came to Shenzhen Science Museum to visit and practice.
In 1989, the "International Symposium on financial regulations" sponsored by the Ministry of finance of the people's Republic of China was held in the conference room on the 9th floor of the science museum.
In 1990, the annual meeting of the China Japan Friendship Association was also held at the science museum.
From 2006 to 2007 alone, we held more than 40 popular science activities. Especially during the two science fairs, the audience's recognition of the Science Museum exhibition area, the interactive exhibits of popular science, and the warm atmosphere of the interactive exhibition area of popular science were beyond our expectation. " Zhang Yonghua, the current director of the science museum, said excitedly that during the Expo, almost every audience would visit the exhibition area of the science museum. Some of the audience stayed for more than half a day, some of the three generations of the audience were operating and discussing around an interactive exhibit, and some of the children came in early and left late for several days in a row. In the entrance and exit and other exhibition areas, it is common for visitors to ask for directions in the "Science Museum exhibition area". "All these show the public's thirst for science popularization and the significance and value of the construction and existence of science museums."
In 1997, Yu Yuyuan, an honorary citizen of Shenzhen City and Hong Kong entrepreneur, set up the "hands on, brains on" science popularization exhibition hall on the third floor of the science museum, which is the first permanent science popularization exhibition project in Shenzhen. In 1998, "science popularization Gallery" appeared on the side of Shangbu road of Science Museum, becoming an important position of science popularization in Shenzhen. In the past two years, the Science Museum has also set up a "popular science Caravan" tour exhibition project, which is popular among young people in schools, communities and grassroots units. Fan Chengzhi, a student of Shenzhen middle school, expressed his feelings of participating in the activities of the Science Museum: "the establishment of the science museum is a blessing to the citizens of Shenzhen. Science is of great significance to everyone. Science itself is the basic element of a strong nation. The development of advanced science is a necessary element of national development, and the popularization of science is an important way to improve a nation's quality. The Shenzhen Science Museum has contributed to the popularization of science. "
On February 23, 2009, in the government work report of the sixth session of the Fourth Municipal People's Congress, accelerating the construction of the new Shenzhen Science Museum was listed as an important content of the first breakthrough. In May of the same year, the science museum was finally located in the high tech Zone, with a total construction area of 80000-100000 square meters and a planned total investment of 1.78 billion yuan. In the project report of Shenzhen Development and Reform Bureau, it is proposed that Shenzhen Science Museum will be built into a multi-functional and comprehensive science and technology activity center integrating science popularization exhibition, experimental training, cooperation and exchange. It is planned to start construction in 2010 and officially open at the end of 2013.
Venue setting
Shenzhen Science Museum has three floors of permanent exhibition hall and five theme exhibition areas, namely: creation exhibition area, exploration exhibition area, thinking exhibition area, leading exhibition area and water exhibition area. In terms of science popularization activities, our museum has also developed a number of new science popularization projects, such as science popularization 3D film, electromagnetic stage, science performance and parent-child laboratory. After these popular science projects started, they were warmly welcomed and loved by the audience. Through the vivid science performance and science popularization interactive drama, the audience can see the phenomenon of "Rage" caused by static electricity, and experience the dazzling "artificial lightning"; through the performance of "science popularization talents", the profound principles can be expressed in an easy and vivid way
