Guanlan Print Village
Guanlan engraving village is a national engraving industry demonstration base integrating engraving creation, production, exhibition and sales, which is based on the 300 year old Hakka villages of Chen and Ling in Guanlan paddy field. It is located in Guanlan big paddy field community of Longhua District, with a core area of 316000 square meters. It is a comprehensive project jointly established by China Artists Association, Shenzhen Federation of literary and art circles, and Shenzhen Longhua District People's government, which integrates print creation, production, exhibition, collection, exchange, research, training and market development. The printmaking base park is divided into two parts: the east area has printmaking workshops and art tribes, and the west area is an international artist village. In 2008, it was awarded the national "cultural (Fine Arts) industry demonstration base" by the Ministry of culture. It's built by mountains and rivers. It's antique. The shape of row house, pond, ancient well, ancestral temple and watchtower all show the unique customs of Hakka people. When the modern print art meets the ancient Hakka village and the Hakka cultural theme is integrated into the modern landscape elements, it forms a unique cultural feature.
On May 18, 2006, the China Artists Association, Shenzhen Federation of literary and art circles and the district government jointly signed the letter of intent on creating an original industry base for China's Guanlan woodcut, and decided to build a Chinese woodcut enterprise and industry in the hometown of Chen Yanqiao, the pioneer of China's emerging woodcut movement, which integrates the creation, production, exhibition, collection, exchange, research, training and market development of woodcut It is a national demonstration base of cultural industry.
In May 2007, during the third ICIF, China Guanlan printmaking original industry base was officially listed and made its debut as a branch of ICIF.
Since 2007, the printmaking base has held 12 consecutive China (Guanlan) original printmaking fairs during the Shenzhen cultural fair. The original print fair is a high-level and large-scale promotion and trading platform for print in China, and also an important part of Shenzhen cultural activities.

"Guanlan international print Biennale is one of the international print biennales held by China with the largest number of participating countries, the largest number of participating artists, the largest number of pieces received, the highest quality of works and the most flexible mode of operation."
Printmaking village is a typical ancient village where Hakkas live. The ancient village is built by mountains and rivers, with the shape of row houses, ancient ponds, wells, ancestral temples and watchtowers, forming a unique Hakka living style. The village is surrounded by towering trees, coconut trees, mango trees, banyan trees and other subtropical plants linked together, a beautiful scenery, quiet and serene weather. No wonder the friends who accompanied the visitors said that this is the real pastoral scenery and the last paradise in Shenzhen.
Beside a small Heping, there is a small river from west to East. Along the river, there is an old house with three rooms facing north and south. The old house has white walls and grey tiles. Long weeds grow on the tiles. There is a fish shaped drip channel on the wall. Moss grows down the fish mouth, revealing the long time of the old house and the pastoral life of the Hakka people in the past. There is an old well in front of the house. It can also make clear sweet water. Next to it is a tall watchtower, hidden in the green trees. In the 1920s, a young man came out of this room, holding a paintbrush and a carving knife, and became a famous figure in China's new print industry. He was Chen Yanqiao, a literary warrior, a printmaker, and an educator.
When it comes to Chen Yanqiao and printmaking, we have to mention Lu Xun. Lu Xun is the father of China's new woodcut movement. He has published more than 10 woodcut Anthologies in his life, and cultivated a number of pioneers of new woodcut. Chen Yanqiao is one of them. In April 1934, Chen Yanqiao began to communicate with Lu Xun and wrote under the guidance of Lu Xun. Chen Yanqiao had more than 20 correspondence letters with Lu Xun, and his works such as "vegetable girl worker", "natural disaster" and "lodging" also participated in the Paris revolution's new art exhibition of China. In his pursuit of print art, Chen Yanqiao emphasizes documentary and peace, and forms a simple, rich and unique style of painting language. His achievements in print make him a leader in new wood carving.
Now, because of his engraving gene, following his growth path, he has established a national engraving creation base in his hometown dashuitian village. American Diana, Chinese painters Li Huanmin, Xu Kuang and fan min became the contract painters of the creative base. When you are in the print base, you can not only feel the rich southern customs and appreciate the masterpieces of famous artists, but also have close contact with the painters to experience the process of woodcut making. In the process of woodcut making, you can experience the pleasure of the formation of works of art, and sigh at the superb skill of the artists. The unique smell of knife and wood is perfectly integrated with the harmonious smell of nature, which radiates endless artistic charm in dashuitian village.
Culture is the soul of a city. After 30 years of reform and opening up, Shenzhen has changed from a small fishing village to a modern metropolis, in which culture has always been the core of urban spiritual development. Shenzhen cultural theme park, cultural industrial park and cultural creative park all show the influence and promotion of culture on the city. As a kind of art, printmaking has been depressed for decades, but I believe it will shine brilliantly in Shenzhen. As Zheng Zhenduo said, "Li Zao painting, in order to promote culture, has made great achievements.".
Because here is the foundation of Chen Yanqiao, there is a world-famous print village.
From the time of its birth, print village had favorable conditions for the harmony of time, place and people. "Tianshi" will be officially listed as "China Guanlan Print original industry base" during the cultural fair in May 2007, while "geographical advantage" means that the print village is located on the Bank of Guanlan lake with natural scenery and economic market. What about Renhe? In fact, the important reason why the woodblock village was built in Guanlan is that there is Chen Yanqiao, the first generation woodblock artist in China. When this famous printmaker, who has passed away for more than 30 years, is about to be forgotten, people think of the brush left by Chen Yanqiao in his ancestral house in niuhu; they remember that he once studied and taught in Guangpei school, a famous school with a hundred years of history; they recall the revolutionary story of his fighting side by side with Mr. Lu Xun in the new woodcut movement, which was proved by letters
