Luban Hall
Luban hall is located in jianjianping, Zili street, Xiangtan city. It was first built during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. It was burned in 1912 and rebuilt in 1915 by mud workers. After the reconstruction, the temple was wide, with its doors towering and exquisite sculptures. It has always been a meeting place for mud and wood workers.
There is a stage at the entrance. It is said that the seventh day of the fifth lunar month is Luban's birthday, and the mud wood workers gather here to commemorate it. In 1926, the mud wood trade union was established in Xiangtan, which is the site of the trade union. Later, Gongshu primary school was set up to recruit the children of mud and wood workers.
Now Luban hall is a relatively complete preservation of the door "Xiangtan ancient city panorama" clay sculpture. The picture is divided into three parts. On the right is the view from Wenchang Pavilion to Xiaodongmen. The whole picture of Wenchang Pavilion can be seen clearly in the original text. In the middle of the city is the view from the inner city to yaowan. The winding city wall, the gates of Guanxiang and Wenxing, as well as the towers and crenels on the city wall are clear at a glance.
Outside the city wall are the hanging buildings of Banbianjie. In turn, the stone arches of Dabu bridge, the high walls of Wanshou Palace, the cornices of Guansheng hall, the stone walls of Shizui Nao, tangxing temple, tangxing bridge, yaowan, etc. all the streets and lanes are lifelike. On the left is the view of yangmeizhou, with street houses and unique style. Under these scenes, there is the vast Xiangjiang River, on which hundreds of boats vie with each other, and the quayside yards are vividly visible. This picture is actually an important material for the study of the development of Xiangtan ancient city, and also adds interest for tourists to visit the ancient city.

The building is divided into front and back two buildings. The front gate house has a clay sculpture of "panorama of Xiangtan ancient city". The stilts on the outer half of the city wall are the stone arch of Dabu bridge, the high wall of Longevity Palace, the cornice of Guansheng hall, tangxing temple, tangxing bridge, yaowan, all three streets and six alleys, and the rain Lake weeping willows. The left part is the view of yangmeizhou, with street houses and unique style. Under these scenes is the vast Xiangjiang River, on which hundreds of boats vie with each other, and the riverside wharf is vividly visible. This clay sculpture is known as the "Qingming River map" of Xiangtan. There is a stage in Luban hall. The central hall was originally dedicated to the gold statue of Luban, and the two chambers were dedicated to the statues of Guan Gong and the God of wealth.

Luban is the founder of carpenters
Luban was a famous craftsman in the Warring States period, and was regarded as the ancestor of mud wood craftsman by later generations. The highest award in China's construction industry is named "Luban Award". Such a well preserved Luban hall is the only one in Hunan Province, and it is rare in the whole country. The value of development and utilization is quite high.
