About Ma Zhen
MA Zhen was the prefect of Kuaiji in the 140th year of emperor Yonghe. At the beginning of his term of office, he studied irrigation and water conservancy in detail, mobilized the people, and created the Kuaiji Prefecture of Jinghu (not Jianhu after Song Dynasty). The dike is 127 Li Long and the perimeter of the lake is 358 Li long. The flood is stored in the upper part of the lake, while the salty tide is rejected in the lower part. When the lake is dry, it irrigates the land. As a result, more than 9000 hectares of good land in the Shanhui plain can be preserved by drought and flood. However, at the beginning of the creation of the lake, many tombs were flooded, and Ma Zhen was falsely accused by the powerful. The Yue people thought of their contribution and moved the remains from Luoyang back to Shanyin, where they buried them in Jinghu and set up a temple to commemorate them
Detailed introduction
Provincial cultural relics protection unit, located in Tingshan Township East Lake Bridge. MA Zhen is recommended by uncle. In the 140th year of Yonghe, Emperor Shun of the Eastern Han Dynasty, he became the prefect of Kuaiji county. In Kuaiji and Shanyin counties (today's Shaoxing), he built a 300 Li reservoir for irrigation and flood storage, namely Jinghu, which can irrigate more than 9000 hectares of farmland. Later, he was falsely accused to death for damaging the interests of the gentry. The tomb faces south and is surrounded by stone blocks, about 2 meters high. A tombstone is placed horizontally in the center of the tomb. The text says that the tomb of Ma Gong, the prefect of Huiji County in the Eastern Han Dynasty, was set up by Yu Qing, the magistrate of Kangxi in 1717. In front of the stele, there are four pillars and three blue stone archways. On the forehead archway of Ming Dynasty, there are four characters inscribed with the title of "Tomb of King Liji" given by Emperor Renzong in the early period of the Northern Song Dynasty. There is a sacrificial table in front of the tomb. Next to it is the temple of Ma Taishou. It was repaired in 1982.
MA Zhen's tomb is located at the side gate of Shaoxing City, across Huqiao street. According to the records of the Majun Temple of xiuhan in Tang Dynasty, a tomb had been built before the ninth year of Yuanhe (814). The tomb faces south in the north, facing Woye in front and facing Tingshan in the north. In front of the tomb, there are four pillars and three stone tablet squares. In the middle of the Ming Dynasty, the inscription "Tomb of King Liji" is engraved on the square. The front of the tomb circle is round, surrounded by stacked stones, and a tombstone is placed horizontally in the middle, on which is engraved "the tomb of Ma Gong, the governor of Kuaiji in the Eastern Han Dynasty, who was granted the imperial seal of Liji king". The Taishou temple was first built in the Kaiyuan period of Tang Dynasty (713-741), and it was repeatedly built after Song Dynasty. Today, the front hall, the main hall and the left and right buildings are built in the early Qing Dynasty. The tomb of Mazhen is a cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level.
