In 1957, the Archaeology Department of Shanghai museum made an archaeological investigation in Qingpu. In the southwest corner of the pier, one hard pottery bottle with zigzag pattern and one Hui character pattern and four gray pottery pots were found. In 1959, a Western Han Dynasty tomb was found in the center of the pier. In 1962 and 1973, one Tomb of the Western Zhou Dynasty, one Tomb of the spring and Autumn period and two tombs of the Western Han Dynasty were cleared on the mound in coordination with the land leveling. The tomb of the Western Zhou Dynasty is about 1.5 meters deep on the west side of the pier. It is an earthen pit tomb, in which only a few pieces of decaying bones and a piece of burial impression hard pottery are found. The pottery is red and brown in color, with curled lips, necks, a round belly and a round bottom. The shape of the pottery is close to the Maqiao culture. The surface of the pottery is full of compound patterns of broken lines and Hui characters. The patterns are thick and deep, and the production is exquisite. Spring and autumn tombs. Located in the southeast of the tomb of the Western Zhou Dynasty, it is also an earthen pit tomb with three original porcelain bowls. It is a typical primitive porcelain ware of the spring and Autumn period. It has blue yellow glaze, gray white body, rolled lip, flat abdomen, flat bottom and thick and deep whorl pattern on the inner bottom. The three tombs of the Western Han Dynasty were all buried in earth pits with the same shape, about 2 meters deep and rectangular. In 1962, a tomb was excavated. In the eastern part of the pit, there were decayed coffins, five rusted nails on the coffin, and five Painted Leather on the coffin. It was difficult to distinguish the traces of human bones in the coffin. Only a few teeth were found in the northern end. A bronze mirror wrapped with linen was found in the upper right corner of the head. In the western part of the pit, there were 17 pieces of ceramics, such as glaucous boxes, tripods, pots, ampoules and grey pottery pots There are about 100 pieces of clay half coins with marks wrapped in linen near the ampoules. These utensils and pottery are all clay gray pottery. The blue glaze ware belongs to half porcelain and half pottery. It has a grayish red body. It has a greenish green glaze on the abdomen and a exposed body on the lower part. The shape of the utensil is made of tripod with cover, appendages, hoofs and feet, and three small buttons protruding from the cover. The pot has a high neck, round feet, two braided ears on the shoulder, a small mouth on the ampule, a bulging shoulder, a flat bottom, a short and fat shape, a spreading head, an appendage with the same height as the mouth and three small feet on the bottom, all of which are the characteristics of the early Western Han Dynasty. As for the half Liang coins, which were used in the fifth year of Yuanshou, Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty, the bronze mirrors were made with Chuan shaped buttons and decorated with flat dragon patterns, which had the style of the late Warring States period.
