On the wall is a plaque erected by the former Jiangning District People's Government of Nanjing in March 2000, which reads "Shi Liangcai's former residence". The former residence displays the life story of Shi Liangcai and the words written by the political figures.

Introduction to former residence
Shi Liangcai's former residence is the former residence of Shi Liangcai, a famous patriotic journalist. The former residence was built at the beginning of the 20th century. It is a two-way house of Chinese and Western style. The main building has both Chinese style hall and Western style house style. It was rebuilt on the bungalow of Qing Dynasty in 1924. It has hall, middle wall door and two-story brick and wood structure. The former residence covers an area of 472 square meters and a construction area of 664 square meters.
At the beginning of 2000, the people's Government of Sijing town invested 600000 yuan in the comprehensive renovation of the former residence. It was officially opened to the outside world in early 2001. Since its opening to the outside world, it has received about 4000 person times a year, and has received more than 20000 person times so far.
Sijing has a long history. It is said that it is the birthplace of Shanghai's history and culture, and the reputation of Shi Liangcai's former residence has gradually expanded. Tourists come to visit with great admiration. Teachers and students from local schools come to visit the former residence batch by batch to receive patriotic education and cherish the memory of the ancients. At the same time, there are also local leaders and even a few foreigners People come here with admiration. In today's reform and opening up, the former residence of Shi Liangcai has added a bright spot to the millennium old town Sijing. The historical value of the former residence is immeasurable. Shi Liangcai
Shi Liangcai, formerly known as Shi Jiaxiu, was born in yangbanqiao village, Hushu street, Jiangning District, Nanjing in 1880. He was the former general manager of Shenbao, a famous journalist and social activist. The historian has been farming for generations. Only his father went out to run a drugstore in Sijing Town, Songjiang County. He stayed in his hometown with his mother. After losing his mother at the age of 8, he lived with his uncle. At the age of 15, he lived with his father in Sijing. Shi Liangcai studied hard since he was a child. In 1899, he was admitted to Hangzhou silkworm Academy in 1901 and taught after graduation. In 1904, he founded the sericulture school in Shanghai, which was valued by all circles of Shanghai business school. In 1905, he participated in the constitutional research association organized by Shanghai academic circles, and initiated and organized the Jiangsu Academic Affairs Association with Huang Yanpei. In 1907, he took part in the movement of gentry merchants in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces refusing to borrow foreign capital to protect the right of way, and was elected as the director of Jiangsu railway company. In 1912, he was appointed to preside over the work of Shanghai customs clearance office and Songjiang salt office. Shi Liangcai was the chief writer of the times in 1908. In 1912, with the help of other people's funds, he bought one of the earliest newspapers published in China, Shenbao, and was promoted as the general manager. From then on, with the ideal of saving the nation by news, he took "Shenbao" as his lifelong career, managed it with great care and determined to reform, which made the social influence of "Shenbao" expand day by day. His reputation is growing and his wealth is growing. In 1931, Shi Liangcai's patriotism was further improved in his frequent contacts with Song Qingling, Yang Xingfo and Tao Xingzhi.
His "Shenbao" not only vigorously publicized Anti Japanese and national salvation, opposed compromise and concession, but also became a position against civil war, Chiang Kai Shek's dictatorship and democracy. In order to control the position of public opinion in Shanghai, the Chiang Kai Shek government once courted Shi Liangcai and gave him a high position of honor such as "chairman of the Shanghai Provisional Senate", but he insisted that justice should not be used. Finally, Chiang Kai Shek ordered Dai Li to send a spy to kill Shi Liangcai on October 13, 1934. Shi Liangcai was concerned about the construction of his hometown and gave a lot of support to the people of his hometown. In 1907, he launched the national agricultural Federation in Nanjing and was promoted as the director general. He also organized nantangshan construction company with Tao Baojin from Jiangning to raise funds to purchase land for afforestation, build roads and dig springs. After he became famous, almost every year he contributed money to help his hometown repair polders, build bridges, provide disaster relief, run schools, and help the people in his hometown.
Tomb of Shi Liangcai
It is located on Mapoling, Jiqing mountain, Shuangfeng Village, Xihu District. Shi Liangcai (1880-1934), a famous scholar, was born in Banqiao Village, Hushu street, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. He was the chief writer of Shanghai times in the late Qing Dynasty. In 1913, he bought the property right of Shenbao with Zhang Qian and other people and served as the general manager. After the September 18th Incident, he criticized Chiang Kai Shek's policy of "stabilizing the interior before resisting foreign aggression" and advocated unity against Japan. After the outbreak of the January 28th Anti Japanese War, he served as the president of the local maintenance Council and actively supported the Anti Japanese of the 19th Route Army. At the same time, he published articles by progressive personages such as Song Qingling, Lu Xun, Ba Jin and Lao She in Shenbao to oppose dictatorship. On November 13, 1934, he was shot dead by KMT agents in wengjiabu, Haining, Zhejiang Province. The tomb was built in 1936 and faces south. It is made of granite and covers an area of 200 square meters. The tomb has three platforms, built according to the mountain. In the octagonal chamber, there is a copper coffin, covered with stone eaves, and the wing angles are raised. The five characters of the tombstone "Tomb of Shi Liangcai" were written by Zhang Taiyan.
