It has a history of nearly 500 years. In the 37th year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, Cao Tianwei and other officials helped 7.5 mu of farmland. In the seventh year of the Republic of China, Chenghuang hall was built.
Since the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, the temple has been inhabited by a peasant Taoist surnamed Zhang. In the ninth year of the Republic of China, the temple was divided into East and west temples. The West Temple was still headed by Zhang shenzhai, a Taoist surnamed Zhang, while the East Temple was headed by Zhu Guanlin, a secular Taoist.
At that time, on the Shangyuan festival every year, Sanjing Temple Fair held activities of erecting tower lights. During the Qingming Festival, the Zhongyuan Festival and the October Dynasty, Sanjing Temple held such activities as the City God's excursion, the people of Sanjing Temple carried the City God, offered sacrifices to the lonely souls in public cemeteries, and set up altars to relieve the wandering spirits and wild ghosts.
During the Anti Japanese War, the temple was destroyed by Japanese artillery. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, Gu Jiatang and others launched a fund-raising campaign to rebuild the eastern and Western temples. In 1950, it was rebuilt as Jingde primary school. In 1983, it was incorporated into the second primary school of Changning Road.
