Hanyang mausoleum is a joint cemetery of emperor Liu Qi and his Empress Wang. It is shaped like a pyramid with the top cut off. There are more than 190 external pits in Hanyang mausoleum. Among them, 81 external pits surrounding the imperial mausoleum have the highest status and rank. A large number of pottery figurines have been unearthed, including warriors, ladies, civil servants, pottery animals, wooden chariots and horses. The newly built and open exhibition hall for the protection of the site of the outer cangkeng of Hanyang imperial mausoleum is the world's first fully underground site museum built with the most advanced cultural relics protection and exhibition concept in the world. It is also the first one in China to cling to the imperial mausoleum, separate cultural relics and tourists in two different microclimate environments, and realize fully closed protection of the site, and adopt international advanced supporting facilities Shi's modern underground Heritage Museum.
Yangling Mausoleum of emperor Jing of Han Dynasty
Yangling Mausoleum of emperor Jingdi of Han Dynasty, namely the mausoleum of emperor Jingdi of Han Dynasty Liu Qi, is located in the west side of Zhangjiawan Airport special road in Weicheng District of Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province. The mausoleum is 166.5 meters long from east to west, 155.4 meters wide from north to south, and 31.6 meters high.
In May 1990, the archaeological team of the Han mausoleum discovered a group of 14 rows of 24 terracotta pits in the south of Yangling. Although No. 6 and No. 8 pits have been cleaned up, more than 400 pieces of painted pottery, copper and iron weapons, farm tools, clothing and coins have been unearthed. In addition, a number of wooden chariots and pottery figurines with chariots were excavated from pit 17. The unearthed pottery figurines are all male nude, with the exception of black hair, whiskers, eyebrows and eyes, all painted in orange red.
According to estimates, the total number of pottery figurines in Yangling can reach tens of thousands. Accompanying the unearthed cultural relics are mainly metal artifacts, such as copper cluster, crossbow machine, hook, horse title, "half two coins", iron spear, halberd, sword, pottery well, stove, etc.
Liu Qi, the son of Liu Heng, Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty, created the "rule of literature and scenery" in the prosperous period of Yin Dynasty, which promoted the development of social economy and culture. In 126 BC, king and queen Jing died and was also buried in Yangling.
The Yangling mausoleum is a joint cemetery of king and queen of the Western Han Dynasty. Yangling mausoleum is divided into South and North regions from the burial pits. The south region is located in the southeast of the mausoleum, and the north region is located in the northwest of the mausoleum. There are 24 burial pits in each region.
Relics unearthed from the burial pits of Yangling include copper, iron, gold, jade, stone, pottery, lacquer, wood, bone, mussel, silk, hemp and other utensils, as well as wheat, millet, Shu, millet and other grain specimens. Among them, the largest number and most distinctive are all kinds of ceramic products, including all kinds of pottery figurines and ceramic animals.
Most of the pottery figurines in Yangling mausoleum are nude. This kind of nude figurine is also known as the pottery figurine with clothes, which is different from the pottery figurine with plastic clothes. It is characterized by pottery body, wooden arms and colorful clothes. There are many kinds of burial pottery figurines with complete categories. Most of them are warriors, which fully show the military scene of Han Dynasty.
The pottery figurines in Yangling mausoleum are not only the direct reflection of the military system of the Western Han Dynasty, but also the carrier of the political, economic and cultural information of the establishment of the Western Han Dynasty. They are of great historical value for the study of the history of the Han Dynasty. The pottery figurine itself, with vivid shape and vivid depiction, has a high artistic value, marking a new stage in the development of ancient sculpture art in China.
