Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Concert Hall
The concert hall of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra is located at 1380 Fuxing Middle Road, Shanghai, with a building area of 19950 square meters. It is composed of 1200 seat concert hall and 400 seat chamber concert hall.
The concert hall of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra is designed by world-class masters JiQiXin and Toyoda Taijiu. It is the first "all floating" building built on springs in China. The concert hall of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra uses the most advanced multimedia technology. The 10 soundboards in the hall can project pictures at the same time, and perform synchronously with any venue in the world. The chamber concert hall also has the function of 3D recording studio, which makes up for the lack of large professional symphony orchestra recording studio in Shanghai. In order to overcome the noise and vibration interference of the nearby metro line 10, the concert hall adopts the vibration isolator technology, which is also very important
It became the first fully suspended building in Shanghai.
facilities
Main hall
The main hall of 1200 seats adopts vineyard structure, and the architectural design is subject to architectural acoustic design. The acoustic concept is that the concert hall itself is an excellent musical instrument, and the 1:10 model is used for computer simulation test and precise calculation. The overall layout of the auditorium is three-dimensional and has affinity, and it is divided by an irregular independent wall on the surface, each of which effectively improves the sound reflection in the hall. The floor of the stage is made of 50 mm Japanese Hokkaido cypress, so that the performers on the stage can enjoy excellent listening effect. Six large sound reflecting boards on the wall are carefully calculated to transmit the reflected sound evenly to every seat in the concert hall, so as to produce the best acoustic effect for the performance. The materials used for the interior ceiling and wall are hard and heavy, and the irregular rough surface is used on the wall to create rich and warm timbre. The sound return board in the concert hall can also use high-performance projection device to present images.
Seats: 1200, stage form: open type (area: about 280 square meters, platform width: 20 meters, stage depth: 15 meters), VIP Lounge: 2 rooms (shared by large and small halls), actor Lounge: 10 rooms (shared by large and small halls)
auditorium
With a capacity of 400 seats, the studio has a perfect volume proportion and is equipped with leading video broadcasting and recording equipment, which can be used as a high-quality recording studio with various performance forms. The outer edge of the auditorium fence is covered with strips of acoustic finishes. So as to achieve the perfect sound effect of this hall. The floor of the performance hall is set with 12 lifting platforms of equal elevation. During the recital, only the central part of the stage is raised, and the audience can sit around. This kind of scribing makes the distance between the actor and the audience closer and more integrated. The diversity of the stage meets the needs of different forms of performance. The floor of the performance hall is made of 50 mm thick Japanese Hokkaido cypress, and the exterior of the sound reflecting board on the wall is irregular and tilted outward for 5 degrees, so as to achieve the perfect effect of the sound reflecting board on the wall and make the audience coexist with the music in the static time and space
Seats: 400 seats, 87 of which are fixed seats. Stage form: open (area about 220 square meters, length about 17 meters, width about 13 meters). VIP Lounge: 2 rooms (shared by large and small halls). Actor Lounge: 10 rooms (shared by large and small halls)
historical origin
In foreign countries, some orchestras have their own concert halls, while others establish a long-term and close relationship with a certain concert hall through on-site means. It is not difficult to find that the combination of performers and performance venues can fix the performance cycle and venue of the orchestra, and help the audience form the habit of enjoying music regularly, which has a very positive effect on the promotion of symphony.
Shanghai Symphony Orchestra has always been at the forefront in popularizing symphony. In order to let the audience more into the art, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra launched the pre-sale ticket business in 2009. Advance booking is an international practice. In some countries with high artistic popularity, the number of advance tickets for symphony performances can often reach 40% of the total number of votes. This number means that a considerable part of the audience has taken listening to concerts as a fixed part of their lives. Shanghai Symphony Orchestra is the first and only Orchestra in China to carry out the pre-sale ticket system. Through efforts, the proportion of pre-sale tickets for Orchestra Performances has risen to 28%.
However, there is no fixed music position, which limits the further development of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. "At present, there are three venues in Shanghai where large-scale indoor symphonic performances can be performed. The audience can't remember where the orchestra is performing this week, and the orchestra itself can't determine the number of performances per week. The irregularity of time and place makes the audience lose direction, which has a great influence on the popularity of the audience's appreciation habits. " Zhou Ping, deputy head of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra.
In addition, there is no concert hall, and it only depends on renting venues to perform, which also restricts the diversified operation and artistic development of Shanghai Jiaotong. For the operation of the troupe, all kinds of sales activities, member services, music education and diversified display of art works can only be realized with the help of a fixed position. These measures closely related to the development of the troupe cannot be completed by renting the venue alone.
In fact, in addition to performing, the small hall of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Concert Hall also functions as a recording studio. Since the closing of the studio of China National Record Corporation in Shanghai, there has been no professional studio for large bands in Shanghai for many years.
He handed in the music for Tan Dun to record the movie crouching tiger, hidden dragon, but it was difficult to find a large studio. There were only dozens of people in a small room. In the past, the recording of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra was basically completed at the former site of Hunan Road. Due to the poor sound insulation effect, a dog barking in the yard next door will cause the recording to be overturned, so the band often has to wait until the afternoon or the quieter time in the evening to record. In addition to the external noise, the coal-fired heating system and the sound of the air conditioner in the old site also became the "killer" of the recording. In the dog days, in order to ensure the recording effect, musicians always turn on the air conditioner to cool the room, then turn off the air conditioner and close the environment before playing music. After a song, the musicians are often sweating. They have to come out for a breath before they can record the next song.
Having your own concert hall is undoubtedly the most thorough way to solve these problems. Therefore, in 2009, the construction of the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Concert Hall was put on the agenda.
Construction design
Work with acoustic designer to select architect and make equal scale acoustic model
How to design the concert hall of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, choosing the right acoustic designer is the key step. The design of concert hall is a very professional work, and the requirements for sound presentation effect are even higher than the appearance. Different from the practice of selecting architects first and then acoustic designers in the construction of many theatres, the acoustic designers are the first ones to be appointed in the concert hall.
Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, while searching for information, visited the world's famous concert halls. After several comparisons, it was found that the sound effect of Suntory Concert Hall in Japan is excellent, and the underground traffic in Japan extends in all directions, which is very consistent with the subway noise problem faced by Shanghai Jiaotong concert hall. After several inquiries, it turns out that Suntory concert hall and Sapporo Concert Hall came from the same acoustic designer, Toyota Taijiu.
After several twists and turns, Toyoda Taijiu took over the task. As soon as he took office, he sincerely expressed his idea: "for architectural acoustic design, the larger the place, the easier it is to do well, and the smaller the area of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Concert Hall is, which is a big challenge for acoustic design, but I will use all my previous experience and knowledge here to make it present the best effect."
After the implementation of acoustic designers, the bidding of architectural designers has also been put on the agenda. Among the four design companies bidding, SHCC finally chose JiQiXin, a Japanese designer with rich experience in concert hall design. At the same time, as a new partner of Jiqi, Tongji Design Institute cooperated with the construction of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Concert Hall. "Every design company's proposal has its own merits, but JiQiXin's idea of the concert hall is more clearly expressed in the tender document. His proposal has a clear expression in terms of the performers' stage, the route of musical instrument transportation, and how to cooperate with the acoustic designer." Zhou Jinghua, deputy head of the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, who is responsible for the construction of the concert hall, told reporters.
The ultimate idea of the designer is to build the concert hall into a fully suspended structure by installing a spring damper at the bottom, while the exterior wall of the concert hall is soundproof by a double-layer structure. In the whole design process, the architectural designer should consult with the acoustic designer to make any changes in the drawings, and do the acoustic simulation test on the computer to make sure that there is no sound dead angle left. After more than 10 rounds of coordination and more than 100 computer simulation tests, the two designers finally made a preliminary design.
However, as a rigorous acoustic designer, computer simulation can not satisfy Toyota. In order to make the audition effect more accurate, the designer suggested making a model of a large concert hall. Different from the common architectural appearance model, this acoustic model made with 1 / 10 scale of the large concert hall can simulate the concert hall accurately to every detail: a microphone is placed on the stage of the model as the sound source; the audience is filled with scaled down model villains; the miniature rehearsal hall is filled with nitrogen gas proportional to the external environment; and 20 voices meet
