Liuzao town
Liuzao town is located in the northwest of Nanhui, 121 ° 39 'e and 31 ° 36' n. The northern part of the area extends into the Pudong New Area in the form of a peninsula, connecting with Chuansha town, Zhuqiao town in the East, 8km away from the International Airport, Xuanqiao town in the South and Zhoupu town in the West. In 2004, it has a total area of 31.81 square kilometers, 10 administrative villages, 1 Community Management Committee and 1 Industrial Park, with a total population of 30200. In 2012, liuzao town was abolished and merged into Chuansha new town.
Historical evolution
Around 1070 A.D., most of liuzao was still in the sea, and then it was deposited southward along the coastline by the Yangtze River water with sediment. By about 1140 A.D., land was basically formed. In 1172 ad, after the construction of a seawall in Pudong, the land was fixed. In the Yuan Dynasty, liuzao was the 19 boroughs of Changren township of Shanghai county. After 4 years of Yongzheng reign of Qing Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of 17 boroughs and 19 boroughs of Xiaxiang township of Nanhui County. In the Republic of China, it was divided into two townships, liuzao and Chenqiao, and later into two towns and four townships. During the Anti Japanese War, it was ruled by the Wang puppet regime; during the liberation war, it was under the jurisdiction of the Kuomintang government. After the liberation of liuzao in May 1949, the political power of the District, township and village was first established, and then the people's commune was established; it was changed into liuzao Township in 1983 and liuzao town in 1994. In December 2011, the original three towns of Chuansha, liuzao and Zhuqiao in Pudong New Area were adjusted, and the three towns were merged into new towns of Chuansha and Zhuqiao. Among them, liuzao town was abolished and merged with other parts of Chuansha new town other than the former airport town (Shiwan and Jiangzhen) to form a new Chuansha new town, with overall layout to serve A1 project and Shanghai east railway station.
Original name
The name of liuzao originated from "yanzao" in ancient times, which ranked sixth in the local area, so it was named "liuzao". Later, as the coastline extended eastward, the original bittern repellent area became a reclamation area, so it gradually turned to the period of agricultural development.

Liuzao town seizes the great opportunity of the development and construction of "two ports and one city" to promote the comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development of our town's economy and society. The economy of the whole town maintained rapid and healthy development. In 2010, the total social output value of the town was 5.65 billion yuan and the total industrial output value was 3.596 billion yuan, exceeding the annual target; the fixed asset investment was 278 million yuan; the warehousing tax was 314 million yuan, an increase of 40.30% over the previous year; the local fiscal revenue was 79.89 million yuan, an increase of 50.33% over the previous year; the land output rate of Luyuan Industrial Park was 1.5 billion yuan, an increase of 42.8% over the previous year 86%; 222 domestic enterprises were introduced, accounting for 111% of the annual plan of 200; 404 million yuan of registered capital was introduced, accounting for 202% of the annual plan of 200 million yuan; 95.22 million yuan of registered tax was completed, an increase of 57.33% over the previous year. 1120 new jobs were created, accounting for 102% of the annual plan. The soil in liuzao area belongs to the type of river marine facies, which is the strong yellow soil species in the yellow soil genus. It can be divided into two soil genera, namely yellow soil genus and orchard soil genus, and three soil species, namely yellow soil species, iron strong yellow soil species and iron filings strong yellow soil orchard soil species.
Liuzao town takes liuzaoji town as the center, and is located at 31 ° 36 ′ N and 121 ° 39 ′ E. The climate has four distinct seasons, long in winter and summer, short in spring and autumn; the coldest month is January, and the hottest month is July and August; the climate is warm and humid, which is conducive to the growth of crops; typhoons in summer and autumn, and low temperatures in early spring and late autumn do great harm to crops.

As early as the Song Dynasty, liuzao area had already moved in. In 1949, except for Chenqiao Township, liuzao district had a population of 15435. In 1952, liuzao District governed 6 townships and 59 villages, with 7099 households and 30215 people. Among them, there are 5973 people in Chenqiao Township, the largest, and 4051 people in Lianmin Township, the smallest. In 1960, liuzao commune had a population of 20493. In 1972, the total population of liuzao commune reached 27258. Since the 1970s, due to the implementation of the family planning policy and various measures to control population growth, the momentum of rapid population growth has been brought under control. During the 10 years from 1982 to 1992, the population of liuzao township has only increased by 1017. By the end of 2001, liuzao town had a population of 30035, with a natural growth rate of 1.13%.
