Dong'an Park
Shanghai Dong'an park is bounded by Longhua West Road in the South and Zhongshan South 2nd Road in the north, covering an area of nearly 20000 square meters. It was originally a private garden of the surname Zhang in the Qing Dynasty. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was renamed Dongan nursery, covering an area of 11300 square meters.

Development history
In 1980, the nursery was transformed into a park, and more than 7000 square meters of adjacent land were expropriated. It was partially opened on May 1, 1983, and the whole garden was opened on May 1, 1984. The park won the third prize of excellent design of the Ministry of urban rural construction and environmental protection in 1986 and the second prize of excellent engineering survey and design of Shanghai in 1986.
Shanghai Dong'an park is a garden park in the south of the Yangtze River, which is mainly made of bamboo. The layout of the park adopts the method of combining traditional courtyard with modern garden, and forms a natural and simple garden space through plant, terrain, water surface, architecture and other garden elements. The use of small to see big gardening techniques to create a variety of garden artistic conception, to avoid monotony, stereotype. The cave door, leaky window and veranda are connected to form a deep courtyard, which is full of twists and turns and elegant environment. The garden is surrounded by flower walls, the courtyard layout is sometimes deep and sometimes bright; the planting of plants is sometimes covered by green bamboo, and sometimes flowers and trees are luxuriant. Bamboo is the main plant in the garden, with 15 varieties and more than 400 clumps of Indocalamus, purple bamboo, spotted bamboo, Phoenix tailed bamboo, Philippine white bamboo, Indian bamboo, jade inlaid bamboo, Phyllostachys pubescens, Phyllostachys pubescens, Neosinocalamus affinis, calabash bamboo, qinsi bamboo, big and small Guanyin bamboo. In each courtyard, pavilion and pavilion, there are flower stands and flower beds of Camellia, Rhododendron and peony made of stone from Taihu Lake, surrounded by oleander, Cinnamomum camphora and Longbai. More than 20 scenic spots with unique styles, such as Cuizhu building, Fangzhu Pavilion, Hongxing Pavilion, Qianli Pavilion and fuchixuan; lifelike Baihua fairy and graceful glass steel sculpture of peacock girl; clear water Cuizhu lake, Guanyu pond, Shanquan stream, Biquan and novel and unique children's paradise, are distributed in each courtyard, forming a beautiful three-dimensional picture.
Main attractions
Gate, the first courtyard: the main gate of the North Garden adopts the vertical flower gate of residential style, with unique design, three sides of green tile and powder wall, and clusters of green bamboo. In the middle of the building a residential style small vertical flower door, without cumbersome decoration, appears simple and unadorned. Inside the door is a small courtyard decorated with flowers and rockery. Turning to the left, you enter the "Shuizhu courtyard" surrounded by green bamboo and flowing water, which makes you feel suddenly enlightened. Due to the south of the small courtyard, through the lattice windows on the wall, the landscape of the inner garden is dimly visible, but there is no door to enter, which has an effect that can not be expected. There are all kinds of leaky windows on the left and right walls of Shuizhu courtyard, and there are door openings leading to the second small courtyard in the West.
The second courtyard is closed on the left side, and the third courtyard on the right side leads to Cuizhu building on one side and the fourth courtyard on the other.
Green bamboo building: a pool in the fourth courtyard reflects the surrounding scenery. Beside the pool stands a statue of a young girl. Cuizhu building is located in the northwest of the courtyard. There is a pool of clear water in front of the building. There are Tingbu and a small bridge on the water. The building is a hybrid structure with two floors and four bays, covering an area of about 200 square meters. The tables, chairs, stools, paintings, hanging, ceiling and wall protection in the building are all made of bamboo. A semi cylindrical bamboo couplet is hung on the door of the building, engraved with Su Dongpo's famous sentence "better eat without meat than live without bamboo", which is written by Shanghai calligrapher Zhang Sen and plays a finishing role. Looking down from the fence, you can see the bamboo shadow and the scenery of the whole garden.
Yingchun courtyard: the courtyard in the southwest of the garden is decorated with powder walls, lattice windows and a circular door opening to connect with other courtyards. Elm, camphor, cedar, osmanthus and other trees are planted in the park. There are a pavilion, a pavilion and a corridor in the courtyard. It is a mixed structure, covering an area of about 160 square meters. In the east of the pavilion, there is a corridor connected with the Qianli Pavilion. Both the corridor and the Qianli pavilion are of mixed structure, with small green tiles on the top. This group of buildings is a recreation place for the elderly, and the name of xuanting implies "the old man is full of ambition".
Fangzhu Pavilion: Fangzhu Pavilion is located in the middle of the garden, with bamboo structure, bamboo top and four corners flat. On the east side of the pavilion, there is a half brick wall with leaky windows and a set of stone tables and benches beside it, which is very interesting. The pavilion has a large lawn in the South and a garden pool in the north.
Hehuan Pavilion: in the southwest corner of the garden, an octagonal Hehuan pavilion with double eaves is built, all of which are of bamboo structure, and the angle is raised. Inside the pavilion are bamboo railings and bamboo benches. The pavilion is surrounded by luxuriant trees. The environment is quiet and elegant.
