Xijian thatched cottage
Xijian thatched cottage is a library of Qing Dynasty. It is located at the foot of wancang mountain and on the shore of North Lake. It is named for its proximity to Xijian. The thatched cottage was built in 1821, the first year of Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty. It is a typical residential building with five floors and five bottoms. It was originally Jiang's bingshe in Xiashi. During the Xianfeng Period, the owner of the thatched cottage and the book collector Jiang Guangyu (1825-1895) came to Yanfen thatched cottage in Xiashi to collect hundreds of thousands of volumes of books for the collection of famous mountains, many of which are precious. After that, he took the rare books to Shaoxing, then from Ningbo to Shanghai, and back to Anqing and Hankou, finally preserving the cultural treasure of the motherland. At that time, Zeng Guofan presented a couplet, saying, "the rainbow is in the deep room, and the dragon is protecting the boat and crossing the sea." The painter Dai Xi was also interested in his work "Shu Shan Jian Shu Tu Ji". Scholar Qian Taiji wrote "Shu Shan Jian Shu Tu Ji". Later Dai TU was lost. Painter Qian Shuchu made the second painting again. Scholar he Shaoji wrote poems. Sixty years later, scholars Liang Qichao and Wang Guowei wrote poems again. For one hundred years, it has been a good story in the literary world. Jiang's descendants scrupulously abide by the will of their forefathers and love books as their fate. During the Anti Japanese War, the book was transported to Shanghai and stored in a bank safe for eight years. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, he donated all his books to the country. Now they are collected in three libraries in Beijing, Shanghai and Zhejiang. Xijian thatched cottage was rebuilt in 1984 and is now a key cultural relic protection unit in Haiyan County.
Book collection scale
When the collection of Yanfen thatched cottage was transferred to Xijian thatched cottage, Haiyan Zhu Jiayu (Zixin) compiled a copy of Xijian thatched cottage bibliography, which recorded a total of 1605 books and 24813 volumes. Among them, there are 25 song edition, 238 volumes, 27 yuan edition, 482 volumes, 26 Ming edition, 1213 volumes, 146 manuscripts and 955 copies, which are stored in Haining County Library. Later, Jiang Qinxu, the second grandson of Jiang Guangxu, compiled three volumes of the bibliography of Yanguan Jiang's Yanfen thatched cottage collection. Later, his younger brother Shupeng (Keng you) compiled a supplement to it. The bibliography records in great detail the editions, the number of volumes, the number of lines on each page, the marks of the collectors, and the inscriptions and postscripts of celebrities. We regret that this item was lost in the "Cultural Revolution".
Tibetan contribution
There were hundreds of thousands of volumes of books in his collection at that time, many of which were precious and secret. In 1933, when Mr. Zhang Yuanji, a publisher, was in charge of photocopying the patchy edition of the twenty four histories for the commercial Museum, the song edition and the yuan Dade edition of the book of Jin collected in hanfenlou were not suitable for photocopying, so he borrowed the small Song edition of the book of Jin from the descendants of Jiang to complete the cultural project. The eight volumes of his song Tuo's Zhongyi Tang Yan tie are the only copies in China. More than 50 years ago, when Mr. Shao Peizi saw this book, he called it "the most precious, the most precious.". Mr. Shao said: "there is only one and a half copies of song Tuo's Zhongyi hall in China. This is the most complete one. It is a rare copy." It can be seen from this that the books in Xijian thatched cottage were precious.
