There is a story about an ancient temple in the mountains. It's very much like it happened here. It's called Dalin temple.
Dalin temple, also known as Dalin temple, is located in the west of huangmaoling on the south slope of the West foot of Hengshan Mountain, Hengshanqiao Town, Changzhou. According to records, in the Liang Dynasty of the Southern Dynasty, Wang 800 practiced Taoism here. In the Chen Dynasty (557-589), the museum was built, named Dengxian, and then destroyed. In the early qianning period of Tang Dynasty, the Taoist temple was renovated. It was rebuilt in 974, the seventh year of Kaibao in Song Dynasty. During the reign of Xiangfu in Dazhong (1008-1016), it was renamed chongxuguan. At the beginning of Yuan Dynasty, it was destroyed by the war. During the Hongwu Period of Ming Dynasty, monks rebuilt the abandoned foundation and renamed it Dalin temple. In 1874, it was expanded on a large scale. There are three gingko trees in the temple and one ancient well. One of them is more than 800 years old. It is said that the ancient well was the place where the eight hundred elixirs of the Liang Dynasty made alchemy. On the east side of the temple, there is a Longmu well, which is said to be the place where Xiang NV threw herself into the well. And built a well Pavilion, well pavilion has a couplet of "well raised flying dragon, God born talent; peak moved out of the earthquake, holy trace to pass".
Such a good Temple suffered serious damage during the "Cultural Revolution". Although the ancient buildings were fortunately preserved, none of the statues in the temple survived. In 1988, with the approval, Dalin Temple resumed Buddhist activities, and master Jinghai presided over the restoration of Daxiong hall. After the main hall, another grand ten thousand Buddha tower was built.
