Gongyuan
Gongyuan is the examination room of ancient rural examination, that is to say, the place where scholars can learn. Tribute means to select talents to contribute to the emperor or the country through examination. The Gongyuan system originated in the Tang Dynasty. There are Jiangnan Gongyuan, Beijing Gongyuan, Dingzhou Gongyuan, chuanbeidao Gongyuan and other sites, among which Nanjing Jiangnan Gongyuan is most famous as the largest imperial examination hall in ancient China.
