evolution
According to Qicheng and related local chronicles, the original Laoshan Mountain was full of dense sandalwood, catalpa, pine, tall trees such as Ailanthus, oak, locust, willow, and grass, which was a primitive scene of birds gathering and animals playing. After about five dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, some people who escaped from the war came here one after another to make a living by cutting wood and burning charcoal. In the Song Dynasty, when the culture was at its peak, they built a lot of smoke kilns, cut down Laoshan pine and other trees, and transported the smoke to Jiangsu and Zhejiang to make ink. The trees on the mountain were almost cut off, and there were few Laoshan pine left. Later, the number of temples in Laoshan gradually increased, and Taoists protected the mountain forest and prohibited logging. And those who burn kilns have no other skills and are forced to leave gradually. During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, when Tang's ancestors Tang Benli and Tang Ren moved from Qingshan village in wanggezhuang street to this village, they saw that there were ruins of kilns which were black as ink, so they called it "ink kiln". In modern times, due to the same pronunciation of "Mo" and "Mai" in Laoshan dialect, "Mo" was written as "Mai", which became "Mai kiln" in time. In order to distinguish maiyao village in the East, it was named "ximaiyao" village.
