It is said that during the flood control period of Dayu, a little dragon was making waves in Xiling Gorge when he was young. Dayu was so angry that he trapped him in Longquan cave. After thousands of years of cultivation, the Dragon abandoned evil and turned into an auspicious dragon. It happened that there was a long drought and no rain in the local area. The auspicious dragon jumped out of Longquan cave and leaped to the sky at the top of the mountain to sow clouds and disperse rain and relieve the people, It's a place with good weather and outstanding people. Therefore, when local people are nominated by the golden list, promoted in the officialdom and so on, it's all due to the auspicious atmosphere of the dragon. Therefore, the tower was built to commemorate it and named "Tenglong tower".

According to legend, there is a daughter of a rich man surnamed Yuan who is as beautiful as heaven. However, Yuan NV was in love with Xiajiang trackers and secretly agreed with each other. Knowing this, the rich man became angry and sent his servants to escort the trackers into the river. Yuan Nu learned that she took the boat man and jumped into the turbulent river. After their death, their children and grandchildren buried them together here. After a long time, two springs of yin and Yang gushed out from the cliff. In memory of the extraordinary fate of the tortoise, later generations molded the tortoise in the pool and named it the marriage pool.
