Fusuijing building, built in 1958, is a product of the "great leap forward" period. It has a dining hall with eight stories high. It is the earliest residential building with elevator in Beijing. It was built from the leftover materials of the Great Hall of the people. Its size is grand and dignified. details
The once famous "people's commune building" is also called "Communist building". In the vigorous "great leap forward" era, the public canteen is one of the most obvious characteristics. Every family together to eat big pot is the most popular and advocated way of life. The people who lived in the people's commune building in those years need to go through strict political censorship. About 40 families can live on each floor. There are 358 families in this building.
In 2004, the building was listed as a major safety hazard in the city, and the Xicheng District Government of Beijing began to invest in risk elimination. According to the statistics of Xinjiekou housing management office in 2013, more than 300 households have moved to only 20 households.
Fortunately, this building has been listed in the list of the first batch of modern and contemporary historic buildings in Beijing. Fortunately, all the buildings listed in the list can not be demolished, and the facade can not be changed.
