Rose Museum

The rose Museum, located in Weishanzhuang Town, Daxing District, Beijing, is composed of hollowed out rose shapes. It is divided into eight theme sections of history, science, culture and the world. Through human body capture, holographic animation, virtual interaction and other technologies, it can mobilize the audience's vision, hearing, touch and smell, so that the audience can know the rose related knowledge, characters and scenes in the entertainment process.

Rose Museum, as one of the main venues of intercontinental rose convention 2016, opened to the media for the first time on May 5, 2016.

It is understood that the rose themed museum is the first in the world. Designed by next architects John Van de water and Jiang Xiaofei, the design concept of rose museum is Chinese traditional rose pattern decorated with silk, which uses architectural techniques to create a rose like architectural surface. The hollowed out metal skin makes the interior form a rich light and shadow space, which creates a semi open transition space for exhibition and produces rich lighting effects. The interior space adopts the division of free space, which echoes with the interior atrium and penetrates each other, creating a natural and smooth exhibition space.

3D suspension imaging, 5D film, virtual interaction and other technologies were applied in the exhibition. The fossil ancestor of rose, which was formed 40 million years ago, also appeared in the museum.

The rose museum is located in Weishanzhuang Town, Daxing District, in the rose theme park where the opening ceremony of 2016 world rose intercontinental Congress was held.

The overall architectural appearance of the museum is similar to a blooming rose. The building is designed by next architects, whose partners are famous architects Jiang Xiaofei and John Van de water.

On the steel structure wrapped outside, there are large hollowed out rose patterns.

Many kinds of roses are planted in front of the museum. Visitors can feel the strong cultural atmosphere of roses before they enter the museum.

It was rated as the top 10 most influential museum buildings in the world in 2016 by the international famous design website designboom.

Features of the Museum

In the museum, there are eight thematic exhibitions on history, science, culture, the world, people, garden, life and prospect, which tell us about the historical evolution of rose.

According to the announcer, roses are divided into ancient roses and modern roses. The common roses on the street and the roses on sale in florists are actually modern roses that are a hybrid of ancient roses and roses.

In the science exhibition hall, 3D suspension imaging technology is used to present a transparent cone, in which five representative ancient roses, such as yueyuefen and Damascus, are blooming slowly in front of the audience. It's amazing that no matter what angle visitors stand, they can clearly see the three-dimensional blooming process of flowers; in many projects of the museum, imaginative virtual means are used to show the history and culture of roses, such as "butterfly love flower corridor". Through human body capture technology, visitors can put on a beautiful Rose dress; 5D cinema adopts 360 ° ring screen imaging technology, which can make visitors feel comfortable From the perspective of a butterfly, the audience swims in the sea of roses.

The most precious fossil in the exhibition hall is the rose leaf fossil, which was formed 20 million to 40 million years ago. It is the ancestor of the rose world. There are many fossils on display in the history exhibition hall. In addition, there is a special exhibition hall for the poems, poems, novels, film and television works, calligraphy and painting works, and daily necessities with rose as the design element.
