Yuzishan Anti Japanese Memorial
Yuzishan Anti Japanese War Memorial is located next to Jingdong Grand Canyon Scenic Area. This was the site of yuzishan ordnance repair center. During the Anti Japanese War, Jidong military region 18 branch ordnance repair center is located. It mainly manufactures and assembles mines, grenades and repairs firearms. The memorial hall records the deeds of the army and the people in yuzishan area of Pinggu during the Anti Japanese War to defend their country and kill the enemy bravely, and encourages people to remember this period of history.
Construction background
Yuzishan village used to be the site of the ordnance repair center of the 18th branch of Jidong military region during the Anti Japanese war. Before liberation, there was an ordnance factory. According to the literature and history of Pinggu County and the historical records of Jidong uprising, this ordnance factory was a secret passage during the Anti Japanese war in the south of Pinggu sanheji county and the north of Chengde, Xinglong and Miyun. The ordnance factory was responsible for repairing guns and transporting military supplies, which played an important role during the Anti Japanese war. In order to commemorate the martyrs who died here and this history, the yuzishan Anti Japanese War Memorial Hall was built at the entrance of Jingdong Grand Canyon Scenic Area. The memorial was completed in 1996 and officially opened to the public in 1997. In October 2000, yuzishan Memorial Hall of Anti Japanese war was named "Beijing patriotism education base" and "national defense education base" by Beijing Municipal People's government and national defense education office. On July 12, 2001, the Beijing Municipal People's government announced yuzishan Anti Japanese War site (1938) as the Sixth Batch of municipal cultural relics protection units.
Introduction to exhibits
The exhibition area of the memorial is 400 square meters. With the historical facts of the Anti Japanese war in Eastern Hebei as the background and the historical facts of the people's Anti Japanese war in Pinggu and its surrounding areas as clues, the museum displays nearly 100 revolutionary cultural relics and more than 200 precious historical photos. There are also inscriptions by Jiao Ruoyu, the leader of the Anti Japanese War border region, and nine precious historical relics, including shirts, scarves and photos, donated by Li Yunchang, the former commander of Jidong military region, to yuzishan Anti Japanese War Memorial Hall. Yuzishan Anti Japanese War Memorial Hall vividly shows the course of the Anti Japanese army and people's struggle against oppression, aggression and liberation under the leadership of the Communist Party of China through a large number of objects, photos and text descriptions. On the right wall of the memorial hall is engraved with the British directory of 555 revolutionary martyrs of the Anti Japanese war in Pinggu. Since its opening, the museum has received 150000 people from all walks of life who came to receive revolutionary traditional education.
