The North Island covers an area of about 235000 square meters, the West Island covers an area of about 60000 square meters, and the South Island covers an area of about 140000 square meters.
In August 2009, it was awarded the ninth batch of National Water Conservancy Scenic spots.
Development and evolution
The origin of the name
Dishui Lake design concept comes from the original overall planning of Nanhui new town: a drop of water from the sky falls into the sea, rippling layer upon layer, and the drop falls into the lake to form a lake.
Evolution of construction
On June 26, 2002, Dishui Lake officially started construction.
On October 6, 2003, the construction of Dishui Lake was basically completed.
On October 18, 2003, Dishui Lake was officially opened for water diversion.
In 2007, the stainless steel sculpture "water drop" in Dishui Lake was built.
On July 5, 2010, the China Maritime Museum on the West Bank of Dishui Lake was fully completed and opened.
geographical environment
Location context
Dishui Lake is located in Nanhui new city, the southeastern end of Shanghai and the East China Sea at the intersection of Hangzhou Bay and Yangtze River Estuary. It is about 75 km away from the center of Shanghai, 32 km away from Yangshan deep water port in the South and 25 km away from Pudong International Airport in the North.
Dishui Lake is round with a diameter of 2500 meters and a total area of 5.56 million square meters. The average water depth of Dishui Lake is 3.7 meters, and the deepest is 6.2 meters. When it is at normal water level + 2.7 meters, the water capacity in the central area of Dishui Lake is about 16.2 million cubic meters. Dishui Lake was excavated from the beach, with 17.8 million cubic meters of earth.
climatic conditions
Dishui Lake is located in the southern edge of the north subtropical zone, which belongs to the East Asian monsoon prevailing area. Affected by the alternating cold and warm air, it has four distinct seasons, long winter and summer, short spring and autumn. The coldest period of the year is January with an average temperature of 3.2 ℃, and the hottest period is from mid July to mid August with an average temperature of 27.4 ℃. The annual average temperature is 15.5 ℃, the annual average frost free period is 224 days, and the annual average rainfall is 1061.9 mm.
hydrographic features
The water source of Dishui Lake is Dazhi River, a tributary of Huangpu River. Through a channel of diverting clear water, the water of Dazhi River is directly introduced into the lake. The ecosystem of Dishui Lake is fragile, and the water body has been eutrophicated. The average annual eutrophication index (TLI) of Dishui Lake exceeded 70 from 2006 to 2008, and the transparency decreased year by year. Nitrogen and phosphorus are the most important factors of Dishui Lake pollution.
The water conservancy supporting project of Dishui Lake includes three chain channels of Chunlian River, xialian River and Qiulian River, seven radial channels of Chifeng port, Chenghe port, huangri port, Lvli port, Qingxiang port, Lanyun port and Zifei port, as well as Dishui Lake sea gate, Luchao River Diversion sea gate, huangri port Festival gate and Lvli port control gate, forming a water conservancy system of flood control, tide blocking and drainage.

Nanhuizui
Nanhuizui Sea View Park covers an area of 18200 square meters, adjacent to Hangzhou Bay. It is the southeastern part of Shanghai land and a part of Lingang New Town water conservancy project. According to historical records, more than 2000 years ago, when the Yangtze river went out to sea, it was supported by the tide and turned to the south, where it joined with the Qiantang River to form a land, so it was called Nanhui mouth. In order to commemorate the water conservancy construction of Lingang New Town and provide people with scenic spots to view the sea, a sea view Park was built in Nanhuizui. The park is also equipped with coordinate signs, world orientation longitude and latitude Memorial square and other buildings.
