Nanchanghe Park, 3.5 km long, will be open to the public free of charge in the near future.

Design features

The South Changhe Waterfront Green Corridor project starts from the West Third Ring Road in the East and ends at lantianchang South Road in the West. When I came to the park, I saw that the built Park pedestrian greenway runs through the South and north sides of the Nanchang River, and the professional cycling road of more than 1000 meters goes straight to the West Third Ring Road. The smooth footpath, with brick surface in the middle and small gravel on both sides, can enjoy the landscape created by the combination of green trees, flowers, sculptures and charming words. On the outside of the park is a red professional cycling road. The road is marked with the length count of cycling in both directions. The cycling road has been opened to the public.

"In the design, we try to maintain most of the current resources. In the selection of materials, we try to choose natural materials such as rocks, logs, sand, bark and so on, so as to reduce the use of modern building materials such as steel bars and cement." The person in charge of Haidian District Landscaping Bureau told the author.

More than 10 residential areas are densely distributed on both sides of the river, such as Changwa street, Shuian Mingju, lanzigou No. 10 courtyard, huijingge apartment and Meilin garden. After the completion of the green corridor, the surrounding residents have a place for recreation. "Since the completion of this cycling road, I have been pushing my little grandson to walk back and forth from the gate of my home to the West Third Ring Road almost every day. Looking at the beautiful scenery on both sides of the road, I feel very good." Aunt Zhang, who lives in lanzigou No.10 hospital, told me.

"In order to beautify the riverside landscape and make it convenient for the surrounding residents to keep fit and cool, we started the construction of the waterfront Corridor project. By integrating the plant landscape along the coast, we formed a zigzag landscape perspective line across the river, and specially designed a 3.5 km road system in the garden, which can connect the north and south sides of the Nanchang River and form a complete walking system 。”

It is reported that there are rich landscape and cultural resources on both sides of the South Changhe river. The north bank is close to Cuihu National Urban Wetland Park, Cao's kite and Nalan's former residence. There are lots of woodlands and rice planting areas in West Beijing on the south bank. The 100 to 150 meter wide waterfront recreation belt was built to integrate the landscape and cultural resources on both sides of the reservoir.

present situation

At present, the main project of Nanchang River Waterfront corridor has been completed, and the final arrangement of the park and supporting facilities for the convenience of the people are in progress. After the completion, it will be open to the public free of charge.
