Historical evolution

Beijing Luhe middle school was founded in 1867. It was first built in the north of Tongzhou City, and later developed into an educational institution including primary school, middle school, University and a seminary, named Luhe Academy. In 1895, it was expanded and renamed as Union College and North China Union University. In 1900, it was moved to the current site for reconstruction. In 1918, its University Department moved out to establish Yanjing University. Zhongzhai department was still in the original site of Tongzhou, which was called private Luhe middle school.
