Tongan District Library

Tongan District Library is a department level institution, a national second-class library, an advanced unit of provincial rural library project construction, a civilized unit of the city, and a demonstration site of the city's national reading activities. Founded in 1978, the original library is located in the old sanxiu Road, with an area of 250 square meters. It was built on Chengxi road in 1986 and continued to be built in 1996, with a construction area of 3015 square meters. In November 2009, Tongan District government invested 260 million yuan to build Tongan District Culture and Sports Center, which is composed of collective education center, library, culture center, science and technology center, cinema and theater, and "four libraries and one theater". Among them, Tongan District Library covers an area of 1350 square meters, with a building area of 5128 square meters. It has built a collection capacity of 400000 volumes, 450 reading seats, and an open service space integrating "collection, borrowing, reading and checking", which was officially opened on New Year's day in 2011.

Tongan District Library has 20 staff, including 16 with bachelor degree or above, 1 associate research librarian and 2 librarians. The total volume is 160000, including 10896 ancient books, 5689 thread bound books of the Republic of China, 6 rare books with 15 volumes, which have been identified as domestic orphans, four of which are applying for the "national precious ancient books list"; 1791 local documents (collection scope: Xiamen, Zhangzhou, Quanzhou). The digital library has 130000 e-books and 16000 sets of video materials, sharing the digital resources of Xiamen Digital Library and Xiamen Branch of National Digital Library of China.

Tongan District Library is one of the member libraries of Xiamen Public Library Service Consortium. It uses the same book cluster management system (Interlib management platform) with Xiamen Library, builds its own bibliographic database, and adopts RFID automatic book management system to realize modern business management such as self-service book borrowing and returning, 24-hour intelligent book returning, intelligent Book safety detection, and intelligent book sorting . Citizens use Xiamen social security card to borrow and return books. One card is universal and can be borrowed and returned freely. The library resources of Xiamen and other public libraries are jointly built and shared. The service is 365 days and 24 hours a year. It provides books and periodicals borrowing, literature retrieval, consultation and reading guidance, video on demand, free movies and lectures, digital library application, government information inquiry, cultural information retrieval and Internet information browsing services for the public all year round. A "micro public moral education school" is set up, in which professors and teachers from famous universities in Beijing give long-distance lectures on Teenagers' mental health and interactive tutoring. Various theme activities such as public welfare training, exhibitions, lectures and reading activities will be held. Tongan District Branch Center of "Cultural Sharing Project" is equipped with: computer room, multimedia production room, electronic reading room, multimedia broadcasting Hall (Lecture Hall), etc. The total area of the electronic reading room is more than 300 square meters, with 72 computers. The computer room is equipped with four servers, two storage disk arrays, 7.5tb storage capacity, Gigabit backbone switch, 100m firewall, 100m network switch, Internet behavior management system, Meiping management software, etc.; the broadcasting hall is equipped with projector, physical exhibition stand, wireless conference system, digital AV management center, multimedia computer, etc.; the production room is equipped with high-definition nonlinear system, optical communication system, etc Disc copying machine, broadcast camera, digital SLR camera, printer, copier, scanner, etc. Satellite receiving system, county-level resource application system, mobile player, etc. are also configured; 4-megabyte bandwidth optical fiber of government network is used to access the Internet. At the same time, Tongan District Library has set up one branch library, 10 circulation service points (including army circulation points) and 81 rural library. The "information management system for the construction of National Rural Library Project" was used to carry out the modern management of the rural library in Tongan District and connect with the national rural library; the book resources of the rural library were used to organize reading and carry out reading activities, which effectively promoted the formation of a good reading atmosphere in rural areas of Tongan District, promoted the spiritual civilization construction of Tongan District, and won the "2009 Fujian Provincial Library Award" "Advanced unit of rural library project construction".

The "reading room for the visually impaired" is set up to provide computers, point display, Internet software, multi-functional digital visual aids, audio and video players and other equipment suitable for the visually impaired. It is equipped with braille books, audio and video materials and so on.
