Wushipu oil painting village is located in Jiangcun community, Jiangtou street, Huli District, Xiamen city. There are more than 4000 painters and painters in wushipu and its surrounding area of about 0.25 square kilometers, nearly 200 painting shops, about 10000 personnel engaged in oil painting logistics work, and about 3000 personnel engaged in supporting work of oil painting industry, such as canvas, brush and frame production. In 2007, the output value will reach 600 million yuan. By exploiting resources, integrating market, extending and lengthening the industrial chain, the output value of oil painting supporting and frame products in 2007 is expected to reach 635 million yuan. On February 8, 2006, it was named "China culture (Fine Arts) industry demonstration base" by China Artists Association and Industry Department of China Ministry of culture.

Xiamen's first commercial oil painting enterprise was born in 1982. With the economic and social development of Xiamen, the scale of Xiamen commercial oil painting industry is also growing. In 1992, the first batch of more than 300 painters and painters entered wushipu village, which opened the prelude to the development of wushipu oil painting village. Subsequently, the production and sales of commercial oil paintings in Xiamen rapidly gathered in wushipu village. Especially since 1996, a large number of foreign oil painting enterprises have settled down, which has effectively promoted the development and upgrading of the oil painting industry in wushipu. Since 2003, Xiamen has earned more than 200 million yuan in oil painting export every year (most of which come from wushipu Oil Painting Village), becoming one of the three major oil painting production bases in the world.
