Chongxi Longevity Palace
The Longevity Palace of Chongxi, commonly known as the red temple, is located in the south of Dinggong mountain in the northwest of Damao mountain. It is now rebuilt in the east of the original site and is located at the south foot of Qingyu peak.
Historical development
It was originally the "Qulin Pavilion" built in the Southern Dynasties, and later the "Huayang Pavilion" built by Tao Hongjing.
In Zhenguan period of Tang Dynasty (627-649), Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty established "Taiping view" for Wang Yuanzhi. The Song Dynasty changed the "Chongxi Temple" and named it "Chongxi Longevity Palace" in 1319.
In front of the palace, there was a screen wall with eight stone inscriptions of "the eighth cave, the first blessed place" on the wall, and a reading desk for Prince Zhaoming beside it. There were Lingguan hall, zhangtai hall, Yuhuang hall, Sanqing hall and taiyuanbao hall in the palace to worship Chun Sanmao Zhenjun. There are 12 Taoist temples in the palace, including retro, Weiyi, Sisheng, Baozhen, Sanmao, Tianshi, Nanji, Xuantan, Donghua, Sanqing, Qizhen and Sanguan.
When Dongjin reservoir was built in 1966, the Palace site was completely submerged. This Taoist temple with a long history can only be seen in historical records.
