Cave 17

This cave is oval in shape and plane. Vault. The main statue is the largest cross legged sitting statue in Yungang, with a height of 15 stone meters. When you walk into the cave 17, which is about 1 meter below the ground level, you look up on your back. This Lord is like Kuiqi Waian, which has the momentum of self-respect. He wore a corolla on his head, a beast ornament on his chest, beads on his arms, and a squat on his legs. Raise the palm with the right hand and bend the chest with the left hand. People call it "Jiaojiao Maitreya Bodhisattva". There is a large Buddha statue on the East and west walls of the cave. It is seated in the East and standing in the West. It is also very big, but its style is different from the main one. Because of these three statues, some are also called "three Buddha", and the main statue is Maitreya in the future.

Cave 17

Cave 17 is a cave excavated in the late Tang Dynasty. He and cave 16 were excavated at the same time. Cave 17 was originally covered by a Xixia mural on the north wall of the corridor of cave 16.
