Zhengzhou mosque, also known as Beidajie mosque, Beida mosque or Beida temple, is the earliest and largest mosque built by Islam in Zhengzhou. It began at the end of Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of Ming Dynasty. There are two Xuande stoves in the Ming Dynasty in the North Mosque of Zhengzhou, which are rare. This temple is one of the cultural relics protection units in Henan Province. Zhengzhou is a national tourist attraction. A large number of people come to the temple for sightseeing and worship. Zhengzhou mosque is a symbol of Islam.
Beida Mosque
Beida mosque (hereinafter referred to as Beida Temple) is located at No.1, the fourth street of the iron tower in the northeast corner of Kaifeng City. It is only a wall away from the Iron Tower Park and covers an area of 5 mu. It was moved to this site in 1662, the first year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty. It is one of the oldest existing mosques in Kaifeng.
Historical evolution
The original temple was founded in an unknown time. It was moved from outside the city to the present site shortly after the first year of Kangxi (1662).

Beida temple covers an area of 5 mu from the west to the East. It has three gates and a lion in front. It has an open courtyard and six rooms in the north and south. It is the lecture hall of the mosque. The south side of the gate is the water room, and the north side is the funeral room. There is a hundred year old Gleditsia sinensis tree in the southeast corner of the courtyard. The wing room, water room, funeral room and other buildings are of blue brick and tile style. In the west of the courtyard is the main building worship hall, in front of which is a broad platform with bluestone railings, 5 rolling sheds, 3 main halls and 1 kiln hall. The hall can accommodate more than 400 people for worship. The southwest backyard of the mosque is the mosque guest house.
architectural style
The Beida mosque was destroyed and rebuilt after the flood and war, but the main building of the mosque basically maintained the scale when it was moved, with obvious style of ancient temples in Qing Dynasty. The main building is covered with Biwa, qijizha beast, and a copper crescent vase with Islamic style stands on the top of the ridge. Hall, roll shed, beams and rafters painted a new, beautiful design, magnificent.
Cultural relics in the temple

1. Qianlong nine years (1744) ancient ritual system, forever comply with the Wandai stele; 2. Qianlong years (about 1743) Arabic, Chinese contrast "Gai Di Mu 13 pieces treaty" stele; 3. Ming Dynasty stone stele; 4. Daoguang twenty years (1840) Liu Shi donation mosque school stele, the back and front above the stele carved with beautiful Arabic characters; 5. Ming Zhengde years (1506-1521) In 1057, Bao Zheng, the magistrate of Kaifeng, wrote a tablet with the character of plum blossom; in 1787, a river project was carried out to find the tablet. There are three wooden plaques on the top of the roll shed, which are "the only one who recognizes the Lord", "the avenue of heaven" and "the spirit of one side". Beida temple is an ideal place to study the history and culture of Islam in Kaifeng.
