In 2006, it was promoted by the State Council as a national key cultural relics protection unit. It is one of the ancient pagodas in the Northern Song Dynasty. The pagoda is located behind baofuyuan in the southeast of Shicheng County, close to the Qinjiang River. The "pagoda shadow in the middle of the river" is one of the eight ancient sceneries of the Qinjiang River. The pagoda was built in the first year of Chongning of Huizong of Song Dynasty and completed in 1110.

It is a pavilion style Pagoda with seven levels and six sides, bamboo steel whip shape, building area of 1982.12 square meters, bottom opposite side diameter of 10 meters, diagonal diameter of 12 meters, inner space diameter of 2.6 meters, wall thickness of 3.7 meters, outer side length of 5.6 meters, from bottom to top step by step, high but not dangerous. Each stage has six doors, three open and three closed. The eaves are hung with bronze bells, the wind blows and the sound is heard in Jiangcheng. The wall of the tower is straight in the north and inclined in the south. The center of gravity naturally moves to the north at an angle of 15 degrees. The structure is rigorous and the skill is exquisite. Although it has been shaken by wind, rain and thunder for more than 800 years, it still stands on the Riverside. Most of the bricks in the pagoda have the words "rennian of Chongning" and "Shengdao Fuli", and the bottom layer also has the brick record of "Yingke". The pagoda has suffered three wars and three repairs in history.
